I been playing X-Wing games since I was a lad and was wondering if JtlS had any missions like this:
A Basic Imperial Vs. Rebel Capitol Ship Battle, so a Mon Cal Cruiser and 3 Rebel Fighter Sqadrons(Each Sqadron Containing 12 Ships) and a Star Destoyer with 6 TIE Sqaudrons.
Set-up in X-Wing Alliance like this:

It was always my Fav type of mission just cos you had so many fighter around you (Both Ally and Enemy). Show here:

So does JtlS have any cool battles like this?
I always loved setting this sort of battle up in X-Wing Alliance but it was never very good for multi-player as other people seemed to lag when playing, so I am hoping JtlS has big cool battles like this. Cos that is a proper kick but battle.

So no ones else loves to take out Star Destoyers and fight in big proper battles?
We should have things like:
Your grouped with 20 friends. You get a mission and hyper space to an instanced space zone where no other players can reach. All of you fight off 2-3 waves of TIEs. Then attack and disable the Star Destoyer. Then some of your mates (about8 of them)who are in the Rebel MP craft dock with the Star Destoyer and Assult it maybe they have to reach a certain pont and still some documentsand disable the communications array.Whilst the rest of you hold off a new waves of TIE as an Imperial Transport Ship comes out of Hyper Space to aid there disabled commrade. Holding off the TIEs means the Rebel Transport is not destoyed so your friends can escape and they disable thecommunications array so that no more reinfocesments can come, so that you are both relieing on each other for the sucess of the mission.
This is proper content and it should be in the game!

Currently, missions in JtL are broken down into four types:
1. Escort - You escort one target through infinite waves of enemy fighters. One wave spawns, then a second wave. One the first wave is killed, a third spawns, etc. In beta, players learned to disable ships so that new waves would keep from spawning, so the devs threw in an automated destruct that blows up disabled ships after 30 seconds to a minute or so. The mice get smarter, the exterminator brings out the sledgehammer. =P
2. Patrol - You go to assigned waypoints and sometimes a wing or two of enemy craft will spawn, which you then have to kill before moving on. There are two similar missions, one involving you going to a waypoint to kill an "Ace" and his bodyguards, the other involving you killing a set number of a certain enemy (Kill 10 Black Sun, 10 TIE Fighters, etc....) with the waypoints guiding you to common spawns of the enemy.
3. Capture - These usually involve you going to a waypoint and disabling every enemy of a certain type that spawns there, inspecting them for whatever mystical widget you've been sent after, and then docking with them. Of course, it might take 10-30 attempts to actually FIND the craft carrying the mistical widget...and you've also got that built-in auto-destruct, so if you've got to kill your target's wingmen before you can safely board it, there's the chance that it'll explode before you can capture the cargo. And then you have to start all over.
4. Mix and Match - Some missions involve multiple steps. Let's take one of my past tier4 missions. Jump into the Dathomir system and wait at a waypoint for Witchblood Soldiers to jump in, disable and then inspect each one, looking for the location of the Punisher gathering spot. When you find the right one (usually takes 10 minutes to half an hour...) go to the Punisher gathering waypoint (which is located dangerously near a spawn of tier 4 Freelance Killers....) and disable each Witchblood Punisher and inspect it for the location of the burial grounds. (I got lucky here...both times I did this mission, the first Punisher that spawned first had the location. But I had to wait out 4-5 waves of tier 4 Witchblood soldiers first.) Once you get the location, go to the burial waypoint. Wait there while the 'insertion team' (whom you never see...) make their way into the burial ground and desecrate it (which is quite the feat, considering you're in empty space....). This involves you surviving for a set amount of time against waves of Witchblood soldiers. Once that's completed (and you THINK you can go home...) you get a message to escort a shuttle that's headed for Endor. So you go to the waypoint, wait for the shuttle, then escort it through waves of Witchblood soldiers. And that's all one mission. =) If you screw up any part of it...oops, it's off to Tatooine to dock at Mos Eisley and hop over to Jabba's Palace to try all over again.
Capital ship battles of the size seen in the SW movies? Doubtful. I think I've seen ONE ground battle....I doubt that there will be many more space battles. The largest ships that I've heard people taking down are corvettes...which is the required mission to get Master. Or at least was.

The deep space pvp zone is basically capital ship vs. capital ship with a bunch of player in between that can organize into squadrons if they want.
