I was talking with a guildmate today who told me damage from two barrel (TIE Fighter) and four barrel (TIE Interceptor) shipsis exactly the same despite the TIE Interceptor putting out more bolts per trigger pull. Is this true?

I was in beta for a short time, but it seemed to me when I was firing my interceptor the enemy ship would be destroyed faster (perhaps because the ship was just better over all) so I assume it would or else there wouldnt be a reason to use 4 barrels over 2 unless thats just what the ship came with.

She claims its exactly the same and she's been playing the Interceptor for 3 days. I just got mine this morning and it seems to cut through enemy fighters much faster, but maybe that's just me being excited over my new toy. There seems to be no damage logs in space. Has anyone tested this?

Damage is based on the number of projectile weapons mounted on the hull... not the number of laser/blaster/ion bolts that the ship *visually* shoots.
