Thread: Poor AI NPCs in space stubbornly attacking one and the same player

In space, NPCs always attack the player who attacked them first, until either they are dead or the player is, which makes themlook very stupid, especially if the rest of the player's group attack him from behind all the time and he doesn't even evade and stubbornly attacks his first attacker, even if he's already disabled.

I am very disappointed by this, as the AI should be 'intelligent' enough to evade and focus on the nearest and greatest threat like in other space sims.

The best tactic is now to just send a tank ship with big fat shields, armor and a super fast engine forward, shoot the NPC, speed away so the NPC is on his tail and the rest of the group just hangs on the NPCs tail and destroys it without much effort.

It also takes away the tactical advangtage of pulling opponents from a damaged craft to one that isn't that badly damaged or from a wors pilot to a better.

I think it shouldn't be this way.
