*Ahem* ~I apologize that some of this post dosent have to do with Jump to Lightspeed so much... although it will at the end...(And I cant seem to locate a general SWG discussion forum...)
Well I haven't played in over a year, back when I quit land vehicles just came out. Back then I got bored do to a lack of things to do, it felt more like a beta than a finished game. But now there are speeders and space ships and such, and as far as I'm able to tell through a limited amount of information, more story driven quests, more gear, and more customization.
, when I left the color customization on droids and some armor was bugged up and most looked the same.
But I'm back and I was just wondering whats changed.
I played a bit, my old charachter still exists. I logged in at Ancorhead, and found the town empty, not a soul in sight, a literal ghost town. I remember tons of people being there all the time when I left.
So maybe I came on right after an update. I sped over to Bestine, and found a similar situation, less than 10 people in the city.
So whats up with this? Is that normal?
Is tatooine no longer a popular planet?
Was everyone in space?
Or was it just a strange coincidence?
And now to the JTL question.
I'm playing the 10 day-demo, which sadly requires the creation of a new charachter. I'm trying freelance pilot, and havent gotten through many missions, but what I'm wondering is.
Can you walk around inside stations/vessels in space? As far as I can tell you cant board the Naboo space station. Are there any stations you can board? Do larger ships allow you to board them? If so, how does that work? Can other people dock with you and join your ship?
And if you can board larger ships how does it work, is it just a command to leave the cockpit seat? Like the YT transport, if you add a gun turret can you have someone else manning the turret, and someone flying, and can the person flying control it if no one else is on board, and can you have perhaps soldier(faction-pets) control these or anything? Can you put furniture in these ships like a house?
Also Capital ships are listed under vessels, can you acctually pilot these? And who/what can customize/modify your starships colors and engines/shields etc.
I've seen screenshots confriming a few of these things, but not very clearly, and I'm just wondering if anyone can help clear these things up.

Well cities are empty because there are ton's of player cities now, noone goes to a big city except to shop, or get a doc buff. No there is nothing you can dock and board in space atm, but hope is forever. Last but not least welcome back.

Thanks.
And yea, I'm really hoping for that, it would makea huge difference.
But then how do we get multiple people on one ship? I beleive I saw a screenshot of multiple people on one large ship. Do you all have to be at the same starport at departure or something like that?

On the Y-Wing you can have a tail gunner, and the other factions have something equal, but you get it at different tiers. At master you get to pilot a multiplayer ship, I forget all the names but the pirates, oh sorry I mean privateers, get the YT-1300 (Falcon type). The mp ships can hold up to 20 pep's ( I think) , but need a least 3, one to pilot and 2 for turrents to be anywhere effective.

You can still drive them around though no?
I beleive the YT was outfited with a cockpit mounted laser in a past game that was used by the pilot. Not sure if thats possible. I just hope they make crew faction-pets (and maybe some non-faction cew pets for those freelancers if they want them) that you could get to pilot turrets etc. Of course nowhere near as effective as a ace player, but still decent, esepecially in non-pvp.
Gotta keep hoping!
It'd be great to have a crew of stromtroopers in your ship, or a bunch of mercs etc.

heres the deal with multiplayer ships
they are: the yt-1300 for privateers, the nova courrier for rebels, and the vt-49 decimator for imperials
You can buy them for about 800k-1mil credits depending on who you buy from once you get master pilot
you can wander around in them
They are pretty spacious and very cool looking on the inside, especially because you can put your own items in them
There are 4 'ship stations' (im pretty sure about that): pilot, operations chair (co-pilot), top turret and bottom turret
only ace pilots from the ship's faction can use the pilot's seat, but anyone can operate the other stations
you cannot use the turrets from the pilot's seatand vice versa, so a crew of at least 2 is required to get anything done in space

How does that luxury yacht work? I beleive I qualify for it on my main charachter once I buy JTL for real. Can it be outfited with weapons? Can it be my house on wheels *cough*.. engines. I dont really like the hassle of houses with the maintaince fees, it'd be great to have a shipa as my house.

What i'm still wondering about is, where is everyone? I've ran all over tatooine, player cities, real cities, places of intrest, and I think I saw like 5 people. The bazzar has almost nothing on sale. And cantina is not a hang out spot anymore like it used to be. I used to go there to talk, get mind healed and buffed, find some people who could make things I need. Now im screwed because I cant wear marine armor while covert anymore, but no armor on bazzars, no one around, and no way to find a good armor shop. I dont see many people in space either. Have that many people quit? Or is everyone somewhere I dont know about, or are people just too far spread out these days. Its really too bad, I feel like i'm playing a single player game.
It's sad really, coming back I thought i'd see people everywhere, driving around in speeders, flying ships. But there are way less people than when I left. I feel like i'm playing a medicore single player RPG.

From what I have seen over the months many of the classic RPG playersas well as many veteran playerswho were around during or near the begining have left the game. Many were just fed up with the lack of improvements and fixes toSWG. In addition several new MMORPG's recently have come out which further removed players from SWG. SOE has recently promised to give SWG the attention it needs this year starting with the highly anticipatedand much needed "combat upgrade". This will be the first of several major changes to SWG that the devs are planning. In my opinion these major changes and improvements are really SOE's last chance to prevent SWG from imploding in on itself.

90% of the guild I was in SWG went to Ever Quest 2.
If you really want to gage your servers population go to Dathmore Sci outpost, most people doing jedi village grind will be passing though there to convert exp over to force skill exp.
