The specific repair kits have more charges and last a lot longer than the all purpose ones do. I have an entire set but I'm a shipwright so it costs me nothing.

Is there a difference when repairing your ship?Perhaps, does it change how much decay occurs?
I have tried both and don't see a noticable difference.
Is there any benefit to using a specific (i.e. Armor Repair) Kit? Cause if there isn't a benefit to using the specific kits it's a whole lot easier on the inventory to use All-Purpose.

With the next publish, generic repair kits will be using Master Artisan experimentation and you will see their hp/charges improved significantly and artisans around the galaxy will rejoice!

yeh, but why not just lose the specific kits and make the general kits a shipwright item?

generic is what you use on the ground to fix anything.
the specific component kits are required for repairing MP parts while in flight/combat.

i hate to disagree but im 95% sure that i was quite happily running round in space with an all purpose repair kit patching up the ship from inside.
shipwrights will always still have conduit repair kits as all purpose repair kits cant repair conduits.
