How do i get this? i've been told i had to go to the kashyyyk space station, i did and im on the mission where i have to escort several civilian transports, but it seems just to be a duty, it's the quest where it says about having a contract for helping civilian ships, do i do this or something else? please help.

Kash Station will send you to one on the ground.
Eventually he'll send you to the imp station.
When they give you a duty mission, abort it. And ask for something harder.

How do you START this quest, and what level in ground and space should you be? I'm 14 (but can get frinds to help if I need to) on space and 2/2/2/2 (ditto) I can use a regular interceptor... figure why buy an interceptor if I can do a quest for a cooler one

You start at the Kash station, then you end up talking to Eyma in Kachihro.

Yep, talk to the chick on the Kash station, that starts you off.
Whatever you do, if she asks you how the foes are, whether they're weak or strong--they're STRONG, for the sake of all that's unholy they're STRONG! Doesn't matter that you rolled over 'em like a steamroller, they're STRONG!! Dunno if the quest's still bugged, but if you say they were weak, you at least used to wind up with endless duty missions from Elmyra or whatever her name was, never getting the option to go further and get the ship.

Yep, still bugged. As I just bugged myself earlier this morning because I gave the logical answer. (Ships that blow up in 4 or 5 hits are not strong or dangerous! 
)
)And this was only an hour after another frustrating bug at the Avatar station. A little tip: Don't try to launch your ship from the avatar platform while you are being attacked, or you'll be trapped in space without being able to communicate to the space stations. Which means you can't land or get repairs.
I was finally able to get unbugged from that by logging out for a half hour, which transported me back to the avatar station for some reason.
Did theyactually try any of these quests out themselves? Or did they just ship the expansion and hope everything would work?

Can these space missions be solo'd? If so, what Tier would you recommend being before trying? Thanks.

The early missions can be soloed easily, but once you start talking to Emya on Kash, it begins to get more difficult, eventually leading to you taking on a Vette.

yer but once you get the deed if you not a master Imp pilot you cant fly it even tho you can do the quest ? as the station as.. after this mission we will give you the certification to fly the Crisom tie interseper... sucks.. why can i do the mission but not use the reward.. also the badge you get says .. heavy x-wing cert lol not Royal tie...
SORT IT OUT SOE more buggs than quests these day..
