No, and any damage sustained in other systems is fixed without decay too if you pop in and out of deep space.

When a pilot dies in Deep Space, PvP or PvE death, is there any lose to equipment such as decay?

And when I say equipment I mean ship components.

So let me get this straight if I fly into deep space...any previous damage to my components or loss in condition is repaired in deep space...How does one get into deep space...how long does it take?

don't treat this information as certainty. sometimes components damaged before entering deep space do not repair on exiting the zone. sometimes components damaged in deep space do not repair on exiting the zone.

Suppose a component has 500/500 armor. You get 200 damage in dantooine making it 300/500. If you repair this at a station or with a kit it becomes 480/480 since every 10 points you repair cause 1 point decay.

However Deep Space is a PvP zone and the devs didn't want damage there to cause decay. The mechanism they used is the following. Once you leave Deep Space every component is reset to the number on the right. So you enter Deep Space with 300/500, when you leave DS it gets reset to 500/500. It repairs without decay, it doesn't restore previously incurred decay.

Deep space can only be entered as Master Pilot at the price of 30k prestige. DS is entered via a space station. Imp station is in endor, Reb station is in dantooine and Neutral station is in Dathomir. Just check the POI's for a POI with the description deep space station.

@Quadperson: I've done a lot of deep space trips, haven't had that happen so far.

i have 170 million prestige from DS. it definately happens, although i conceed it's not all that frequent. a good workflow to reproduce this is to use your droid commands before you enter the zone and exit the zone without using any additional commands or incurring additional damage.

I've popped out of Deep Space and not had full repairs occur - happens rarely, and seems to happen more frequently to armor. But a quick trip back in and out of Deep Space always fixes it. I've never noticed decay from Deep Space repairs.

As a note on deaths, you do still suffer the usual wounds/battle fatigue.
