PRIMA's JTL Official Game Guide has 464 pages..
400 of them are recycled info from their SWG game guide.
Other than the Pilots and Shipwright skill trees, It dosent have any detailed info ongame play.
It dosent havepictures of all the space/star ships available, No info on ship controls, hyperspacing, Joystick configuration, auto piloting, ship modification, movement about your ship etc... an the list goes on..
I guess for $19.95 I expected much more detailed and useful info, It's thel last game guide of theirs I will ever purchace.

Why buy it when the next publish is going to outdate all the information anyway? It's the same thing with the AED guide.

Any printed guide for an MMORPG is going to be out-dated the minute it's purchased. Don't waste your money when there's plenty of good websites available to you.
PRIMA hasn't put out a good strategy guide since Super Mario Bros. 3

Prima's guides for MMORPGs ALWAYS suck. The main reason is because MMORPGs are always different at release than they were during final editing for the guy. Published MMORPG guides are just a scam. Stick with websites and forums for information.

Beg to differ. Their guide to Sim City 4 was fantastic!
At least, I THINK that's a Prima guide. I'll have to check.

FalinMor, SimCity4 wasn't an MMO.
And considering things like the last minute mass changes, I'd have to wonder how it could possibly be up-to-date for JtL.
I was just disagreeing with your statement that they haven't released a good guide since Super Mario 3. ![]()

I'm sure when I first saw it on amazon while looking for the release date of JTL the guide was out about a month b4 the game, I guess if they had put much more than the basics in it could of ended up highly inaccurate by the time JTL was released, they should of waited and released it at the same time as the game with a bit more in. As has already mentioned any MMO games change all the time and RPG games are always being updated - some guides will be re-written for each different .1 version just the way it is.

On the contrary...
Prima's FIRST strategy guide is useless.
This new strategy guide has all of SWG's old info now updated, so until the new changes its OK.
And you can't look at it as a bible for information but as a collectible.
"Remember when..." so to speak.
Take it for what it is.
I paid 15 bucks for mine.
If you can't afford it, don't buy it.

This post is so far from the truth its sad. The guide has MAJOR CHANGES over the original guide. I have both guides and the new JTL guide has a TON of updates. It has all the meat type for every varation on every monster in the game that is update. That alone is worth 20.00 for those of you hunting monsters and going HMMMM what type of meat does the Durni have? Or better yet the Exotic Durni... Trust me this book has new and updated Trainer locations that the old book was outdated very quickly on. If you are a collector as I am, this book is great and already has proved to be a great help to me in JTL..

There I saved a bunch of you $20. There is nothing I can find in an SWG Printed Guide that I can't find on the forums or fan sites.

I totally saw that. I peaked through it for insight on how to play a pilot in jtl and it's just mostly a rehashing of the base game. No strategy recommendations. No secrets. Just the stuff we already know on most of the pages.
I hope they printed a lot more of this toilet paper quality prose than they actually sell.
