Took an engine out of my z95 that had a yaw, pitch, roll acceleration of 300-500 and put it in my y-wing. Now showing 30-80, now completely useless.

That is normal, the engines are going to perform differently in each ship. To simulate this the ships all have a weight class, thus affecting performance and handling in starships.

No, it totally changed stats and is the same when you put it back in the other.

This is an unresolved issue from the beta
Engines arent the only thing that changed stats in beta, cant speak for live I'm downloading it still
The names of crafted components got messed up as well when you logged in beta - hopefully thats fixed.

Do a /bug on it. But he is correct its to show the differences in ships, but it should "revert" back if you put it in a different ship.

It's not totally useless, just showing you what the effects of putting that engine in that ship would be. (Y-Wings turn like bricks even with good engines, IMO) If you put that engine back in the Z-95, it'll have the "old" stats again.
It's a pain, but I've had the best luck with loading/unloading all my engines in each new ship type as I move up to get an accurate comparison. Generally, if the "SoroSuub super duper engine" is the best one in my Z-95, it'll be the best one for a Y-Wing upgrade and so on. That still doesn't make the engine worthless.

Dont worry about it.
Pitch, yaw, and roll acceleration and speed are determined by the chassis, not the engine. This was changed late in beta, and the stats were never removed (but i believe the ability to experiment on them was).
Regardless of the quality of these stats, your ship will behave as the chasis tells it. Acceleration and deceleration are also handled in this way, though the engine does have an influence but is limited by the chassis.
Top speed and energy requirements are the stats that the chassis has no control over.
