Thread: Privateer Tier 1 Mission Help!

I'm trying to complete the Tier 1 missions out of Coronet. I've gotten to the last one; Killing the lead pirate, the Eliminator, a tier 2 ship. Basically, I'm unable to do it. The best I have done is get his shields down to 65%. He's so much faster that I get a few shots in each pass before he is out of range. I'v upgraded to a player made ship and added weapons, etc, but since they are only level 1 weapons they seem inneffective.
Any advice?

It's all in the timing 
When he's coming towards you just ignore that target reticle and concentrate on timing your turn. Use a pitch turn, it tends to be faster (this means orienting your ship so that you will be pulling back to make the turn, your nose will be rising). When he is about 100m out, start your turn and HOLD IT at max. Don't ease off at all, even if you get to where you thought he would be and he's not there, keeping turning. Eventually you will end up on his 6 and able to dole out a little pain his way. Don't worry if you can't do it all in one pass. Let him get away and turn towards you again and be ready to do it again. Remember, unless those weapons are hitting something then you shouldn't be shooting, don't just hold the fire button down and hope he walks into the line. Time your turns, time your shots. You can also try experimenting with the lead indicator, try shooting to the bottom of it rather than dead centre. Erm...I can't think of anything els.

I see that your on Lowca. I'd be more than
happy to help you out. I'm currently 3333
in the smugglers alliance. Send me a /tell
and we'll hook up and work together. I don't
know what alliance your working for, but if
it's anything like the smuggler's alliance
the tier 3 missions are pretty darn tough to
solo if not impossible. I know alot people want
to solo these missions, but man when you have
three or more people fighting NPC's, and the
ships are flying all around shooting at each,
and laser blasts are flying everywhere it's pretty
dang cool. Sorry for the rambling. Like I said
