Ok, I'm assuming that a flight computer is the imperial version of having a droid on board but all the droid programs that I get after getting astromech skills don't show up? Where are these programs? How do I load them? I assumed it'd be under the space tab or the astromech tab once in space but they aren't, I don't understand where those programs are?

You need to buy Unprogrammed memory modules from a DE and you can program those with the programs you have availeble from your skill, then transfer it to your datapad, and then put it in the droid memory module or the astromech computer.
Note: after you put them in you can't get em out again.

Ok this is sorta complicated, but Ill try to explain it this best I can - if you don't understand my insane ranting
I recommend checking up the Droid Engineers Forum - they have alot of eloquent people who could probably explain this better than I can..
First you need an 'Unprogrammed Droid Module' for each command you want to store in your flight computer.....these are avaliable from your Local Droid Engineer (they are fairly easy to make so dont pay more than 5k for one).
Now, you right click on the module and select the 'Program Droid Command' option - it then gives you the commands you can program - select the one you want and that module is then 'programmed' for that command. The title of it changes to 'Burnt program module: <Command>'
Right now the confusing bit - you cannot transfer this module straight to the Flight computer. What you do is right click on it again and select the 'Store program' option - the module will disapppear from your inventory and the 'command' will appear in your datapad. Now you can select your flight computer, select the option 'program flight computer' and this will open the Computers datapad. Then its just a matter of dragging the commands from your datapad to the flight computers. You can now fit your computer to your Ship. If you examine the computer in the Inventroy screen, it should list all commands programmed into it.
These commands cannot be removed from the Flight computer, so everytime you upgrade your computer, you'll have to reprogram it from the start again.
Once in space, if you check the 'Astromech' Tab on your macro options, you'll see the commands you've fitted into your computer. Drag these to the Hot Key bar and Hey presto, you're sorted!
The only difference between a V1 flight Computer and a V6 is the size of the datapad (eg how many commands it can store) higher level commands take up more datapad 'memory space', so you'll need to upgrade your computer if you want to store all the commands avaliable as you level up the Droid Interface Tree.
Only a couple of Rebel fighters (X wing/Ywing I think - not sure) can take a Astromech (R5, R4,R3 & R2),all other ships and all Imp and Freelance craft take Flight computers.
Droid commands can give you a big edge in Combat, especially for Imperial or Rebel fighters. Imperials can boost their max engine speed or weapon Damage, while Rebels can adjust sheild settings. Unfortunately the Freelance Droid commands are fairly useless - the only thing thats possible is Boost reactor output, so unless you've got a badly designed shipor a damaged reactor its not really that useful.
The droid command, when activated, will stay active until (1) You die (2) You land or (3) You switch it off (using the Stabilization Droid Command)
You have time limit between Droid Commands - this time is down to the Droid Interface and the stat: Droid command speed.
Hope this helps
