OK, Devs, what in the galaxy were you thinking when you created this tier's missions? The first series of Tier 3 was bad enough, but how did fighting a series of TIER 4 ships happen on supposedly a Tier 3 mission series? HELLO?! The first part of the mission is to disable/inspect a Tier 4 Recon A-Wing. This is guarded by 3-4 Tier 4 X-Wings. My ship can sustain 3-4 hits before my shields are gone from these things. Two more hits and my armor goes along with some component damage. I might as well be facing a cruiser for all the good I do against them, even with 1500 damage ion cannons tuned up to about .64 against shields.
My souped up TIE/In is completely outclassed by Tier 4 ships, even with some massively boosted Tier 3 components. I can't get my TIE Interceptor until I complete this mission, but I can't complete the mission without a squad of Tier 4 pilots flying my wing on this either. Try finding them. My group of buddies, all in Tier 3 ships themselves, last only about 10 seconds longer than I do.
If anyone has any insight into actually beating this, and getting out of my Catch-22, please feel free to chime in. (By the way I've assisted several other pilots with their own Tier 3 missions, from other squadrons besides Storm Squadron. They all get to fight appropriate Tier 3 ships in their missions!!)

Storm Squadron is the hardest of them all. I have done the other missions with friends and they are absolutely easy by comparison. Most imps from other squads that helped me with my tier 3 missions, dont want to help anymore after because they even say its too tough or way to crazy.
As for beating the A Wing recon fighter. Try to find someone higher level to help you. Have them engage the X Wings. Then you run straight through to the A Wing and disable it. But the fun doesnt end there. You got some escorts and other stuff to do also. You should have gotten Tier 3 ship first. Then you could deck out a bomber with all max level gear. That is how I bypassed that mission.
So just think, when you get ace you will be the toughest ace of them all.

I don't know if this has happened in the other squadrons, but I tried just climbing combat & technology first because the other stuff I could do without, but they absolutely won't train me in a higher tier of anything until I've filled all 4 boxes of the current tier. When I had the exp to go to tier 3 combat, the trainer only offered me the other tier 2 boxes that hadn't been filled yet
It's not letting me choose my skills at all the way ground professions do.

That is the way its meant to be. You have to fill all 4 boxes on each tier before you advance to the next tier. They are doing that to keep it even up. So no one will be 4400 and running around wiping the floor with the other boxes.
