So I'm guessing this is just something I should file a CSR ticket on? Has nobody else noticed this?

I almost always fly using cockpit views and padlocking for immersion and thanks to the devs for including these great sim options! One problem for me piloting the YT is that perspective seems to be off. The view seems to be of someone standing rather than sitting in the pilot's position. Makes it so that I'm looking down at my copilot/operations and the 'feel' isn't right of being settled down behind the controls whatsoever. Please check it out for yourselves and if any other pilots have noticed this please chime in. I don't know if it's just my ship and a bug for me or if all YT pilots are experiencing this. It'd make a huge difference in my experience if it could be addressed. Thanks again.

It may have been done intentionally to allow you to see more of what's in front of you. I haven't actually been on the YT, but I'm guessing you can see more than half the starfield. Take the Yacht for example, you can't see much of anything when driving that around, but you really don't need to either since it's not a combat ship.

It's a thought but field of view isn't an issue in my Rihkxyrk fighter. It's like looking out over the hood of a stretch limo. Reminds me of tooling around in Taurus' "Eloise" in I-76. *laugh* Even though I can't see much I see enough especially with padlocking and the option to toggle the cockpit on and off or simply zoom out. So the devs do give you plenty of ways to make field-of-view restrictions a nonissue.
I'd really like this fixed as I'm pretty sure it is a bug. It'd be extremely nice to feel I'm really behind those controls and be able to look over at, not down on, my crew in the cockpit.

The trouble here isthat you can't turn off the cockpit of multiplayer ships because you ARE actually inside the ship unlike on a fighter where the cockpit is just sort of hovering in front of your camera (at least that's how it is with the Yacht). What would be really annoying on a multiplayer ship is if a member of your crew decided to be a jerk and stand right in front of you.

It's true that I've never tried to toggle the cockpit off in the YT, and generally don't in the fighters either, but I do use the zoomed out mode if I'm in a tough fight in the freighter. Padlocking and cycling targets or just panning around is a good way to keep up with what's going on when you need to make decisions fast. I'm not sure whether or not a player can get between the pilot's PoV and the controls but even if I'm standing and he's as tall or taller than me it's still a problem. Tend to suspect it doesn't come up much though.

Be glad it isn't the SoroSuub from BETA.
The control console was so high that it took up over half the screen. And when you zoomed out of the ship, all you saw was the ship's huge white ass.
