Tonight I flew the last tier 4 mission and the corvette master mission as wingman for a friend. I flew the Opressor while he was using the Advanced (not being master yet, leaving no choice). This was my first serious experience with the Opressor. I have chosen to use the extra mass for level 8 RE weapons, capacitor and a necessary reactor in addition to the multiple missile launchers. While it was very nice to do a lot of damage in a short time span, I found it a little hard to get used to the lower speed and manouvrebility. In fact, I had to cry for help when 4 tier 5 A-Wings took my six, and I simply couldn't shake them. This was never a problem in the TIE Advanced...
I chose the Opressor last night because A) I wanted to be able to do serious damage on the corvette and it's gunboats and B) I was going overt and my PvP experiences in the Advanced hasn't exactly been great so far
But the sortie made me curious. What are other Imperials flying in Kessel and Dark Space. And what are your priorities when it comes to equiping the things - especially the Opressor.

I use the oppressor for the high mass. I just can't imagine flying something with a mass like the advanced. I was happy flying an interceptor in tier 3, but when I went tier 4 and flyed the aggressor I fell in love with bomber type ships.
As for the A-wiings, throttle back to your speed of best maneveurability if you didn't. Don't chase A-wings, just spin and hit them in the front when they come at you, and don't bother shooting them up on the boostered egress.

Best combat speed for Oppressor is between 50%-75% throttle. I always use 50% when dogfighting with A-Wings or other fast ships. There's nothing you cannot shake at 50%.
As for componets, you need a big shield with low mass (I use a 2800/3800 RE'ed lvl 8 with 20K mass); two biggest games you can find that fit under your limited mass chassis; I also use a RE'ed lvl 5 reactor that has like 15000+ energy, a lvl 6 RE'ed capacitor with 1300energy and 48 recharge (with capacitor overcharge 3 you can get it close to 2000), the 92.2 rewardengine, alvl 7 droid interface with less than 500 mass, a lvl 6 booster and a micro-chaff launcher. I do not use any missileswith the Oppressor.
