Thread: I am confused
A couple weeks ago i made some really awesome advanced blade vibro units, about 500 in a factory run. Im trying to make another factory run now with the EXACT same resources, and the max damage is only reaching the minimum damage of the old ones. Do i need to hold my mouth a certain way, or do it at a certain time or something? Or has something about the schematic changed between now and then? Im puzzled why im having these results. There were no enhancements of any kind on the old ones. here are the stats of the old and new respectivly:
damage 37-56
speed -.52
wound 18
wpn range 0-5
wpn range max-3
wpn range ideal-5
ham 9/6/9
Damage 23-35
speed -.32
wound 11
wpn range 0- 7
wpn range max-11
wpn range ideal- 11
ham 8/8/9
anyone have ideas?
The bug is considered an exploit and most people will delet these schematics once they know they are not legitimate builds. Some smiths have chosen to make use of the bug to boost their quality, but these player have received a lot of heat from thier fellow weaponsmiths.
hopefully they will get to fixing it soon.

There is a bug that happens allowing you to get exceptionally high results on final experimentation. It can happen in the normal construction of things and unless they are aware of it, most smiths will justbthink they caught a lucky break.

This is not a bug (or atleast it has not to my knowledge been confirmed as a bug)
I managed to get a lucky damage increase on a run of Laser rifles, I contacted CSR and asked if this was considered a bug, or if it would be considered exploiting to sell these weapons.
The answer I received was that it was a part of the game and gave me green light to sell it, I got a screenshot of the answer and I've been selling my awsome Laser rifles all week.
several weaponsmiths on eclipse has indeed emailed CSR in the past and asked about this and all received the same answer - it is not a bug or exploit.

I think you are pretty much covered if you report the incident before taking advantage over it. However if your gettin a lot of "accidents" and benefit from "unintentional" bugs daily the Devs will nail your butt quickly.
Maybe it's an undocumented "masterpiece" feature. If you have a bunch ofestablished weaponsmiths, all with access to the same resources, they're all going to get nearly identical results on normal weapons. To me, that's notmuch fun (I'm in this situation now). The differentiation comes in marketing, salesmanship, and customer service, which should *not* be the focus of a weaponsmith - that's what the Merchant is for.
Why would a new weaponsmith want to try to get into that market to compete, when they don't have access tothe same resources? It's a major pain to grind all the way up to master and realize that your "perfect" guns are 0.5 slower and 20 max damage below your nextdoor neighbour, who's selling them at a price so low it would take you years to pay back your grinding costs.
A feature like this gives me hope, and should give new weaponsmiths hope, that maybe I can craft an advanced sword core that's 30% better than the best anyone has ever seen. Honestly, this really sounds like a feature to make the already amazing crafting and economic systems a little more realistic... and a little more exciting.
