Thread: TIE Oppressor VS. TIE Bomber.

OK I was thinking about it today when i couldn't fit both of my uber weapons in my oppressor because i was only 5k mass short, I started thinking about a personal ship with more mass and about the same handling. Then it came to mind the TIE bomber, It has average 190k mass about but not as good of handling as the oppressor but nothing that fluxuating the throttle and some good dang piloting cannot take care of.
So I went out bought me a new TIE bomber to see which one is really better surprising enough the Bomber is way better if you are a good oppressor pilot and are skilled enough to handle it then the bomber is for you. Yes, it is a Tier 3 ship but it is in my own opinion the best TIE class ship in the Imperial Navy. Costs less, hass more mass, and about the same handling as the oppressor. So for (at least on my server) 750k for an oppressor you can get a better ship and save your money for 100k for a bomber.
If your going for looks, then the Tie Oppressor is for you. If your in to the whole dogfighting etc thing go for the Tie Bomber.
All I can ask is that the Devs add a special mission reward for imperials of a Tie Defender with good handling about the speed of an avenger with the mass to hold most tier 10 components so most likely around 200k. I dont even care if it is near impossible to get as long as the opportunity to get a special faction ship is out there i am happy. And maybe add like the V-wing for rebels....

I have to say I like the Oppressor a lot more.
I have a simple test as to whether a ship is good or not. This test is extremely simple to carry out, all it involves are me, my ship and few Tier 4/5 A-wings.
The ship I take them down the quickest in whilst using only blasters wins!!...Winner TIE Oppressor, it even out flys the TIE Advanced when taking down A-wings in my opinion.
I also find the Oppressor to be have much better handling, especially once you have used the boost, the Bomber tends to not be able to turn for a couple of seconds after a boost.
I did prefer using my Bomber over the Interceptor though during the Tier 3 missions purely because it could take more hits, and Tier 3 ships take seconds to kill with two level 7 guns on it!
I will agree on the TIE Defender thing though...they rock!!

No, it's not about the same handling. TIE Bomber oversteers a lot more than the Oppressor, and in order to dogfight, you will have tostay at33% throttle. The only ship that handles like the Oppressor is the KSE Firespray.
