I *believe* they said JTL would be included with this expansion....
I for one think its cool. I need some more content to hack through.
I hope we get something neat for pre-ordering.

I thought they had stated that the Combat Update would be free of charge. Why do we need to pay for it? Am I missing something

You are not mistaken, it was supposed to come along with updates. SOE seems to think that fixing the game deserves to hold the leverage of a whole new expansion. (Yes, I know, wookie home world...bleh...wookies) I was wondering myself how exactly they planned on having the combat upgrade in an expansion that not everyone is going to flock to buy.
Oh, and yes it does come with Jump to Lightspeed...If you preorder and download it...If not, then you be screwed.

The combat upgrade IS free. You don't have to pay for it. They just come out at the same time.

That was very eloquently stated. In my response, I would like to take a page out of the fark.com book, and invite you to RTFA!
CU = FREE
RotW = INCLUDES JTL
And my god, people, $25 is not alot of money. If you can afford to be a gamer, then you can afford twenty-freaking-five dollars.
Sweet jesus. Before this announcement I was tempted to write a post saying how reasonable and rational the denizens of this forum are compared to the twisted vitriol being spewed on other boards - but no more! It seems that whenever a change is in the air, the idiocy floats to the surface. Read THE WHOLE press release and THINK about it! Don't leap to conclusions the moment something seems like it could possibly be different from the fantasy perfect game you have in your head!

CURB will be FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is going to be released at the same time as Rage Of The Wookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To whom it may concern,
Well, I have just read the news...another expansion for the SWG universe. I, honostly, was not too thrilled with the last expansion. I agree that the space aspect of the game was awesome, but it was actually meant to be in the original game anyway. The next one, from what I have heard of it so far, is not only not worth my next $25, but also holds back the people who did not feel that they needed the "action" of space. The next expansion will not only need SWG, but also JtL to run. Why? From a business point of view it's awesome, from the consumer point of view, I feel like I've been given a run around. Most expansions do not need other expansions to run, unless the men/women in charge are only in it for money...Are they?
And I digress, (short rant, huh?) the new expansion (though adding the Wookie home world is a HUGE feat) does not actually sound good enough to be worth $25. I agree there should be a fee, but not $25 that could be spent on gas/women/tacos. With this, I hope primarily to see the new expansion not need Jump to Lightspeed to play, so that you may have a choice of expansions, rather than HAVING to have both. This is mainly because I don't want to buy the new expansion, but I might want to buy one in the future; and I will not be happy if I'm forced to buy two at one time, just to get the content that I want.
