Thread: Master Level Ships

We all know that everyone wants new ships. How about for startersweactually put some use to the beginnerships as an ace? As an imperial ace it really pisses me off that the only fighter i can really use is the oppresor "or firespray" What i dont get is why shipwrights dont have the ability to create something like "master level ships" meaning something likethe interceptor but with compareable stats to an oppresor.


Say the oppresor has 1500 chassis integrity and 180k mass. Then the master level interceptor would be 1300 integrity and 165k mass etc. etc.


This way ace's at least have a few more options. Yes there are plenty of other things that need to be added/fixed, but this one just seemed like a no brainer.

I don't know about you, but I have a Scyk and I got that sucker running beautifully as a Master Privateer.

Also, the Light Black Sun is the fastest ship in the galaxy. People need to put more use into that baby.

lets just say with the stuff i have, a) it would never fit in an interceptor, aggresor, or advanced, and b) it would fit in a bomber but the bomber is like a boat compared to the oppresor when it comes to speed. then again, i do have mainly prenerf stuff

Ain't you guys forgetting the A-wing, that baby is fast

I'd rather have some new ships added than just having old ships increased in mass.

I agree with newe ships, but without using rare components and resources so it won't take half a year before a shipwright can make it.

ya i find it ridiculous for the starting syck fighter to have 11k mass then i go out and see a dunelizard with 85k mass for me at my level thats more mass then i know what to do with of course im not saying lower the mass just increase on the syck to maybe 35k?

For me, figuring out how to outfit those smaller ships keeps things interesting. Spending the time to find just the right component so I can finally RE that weapon into something light enough to fit into my Kihraxz is fun to me. It makes the ship extra special and personalized - if they increased the masses allowing anyone to just throw whatever they wanted in their then we'd end up with one ship being the composite of space.

Well the Light black sun fighter ((the kihrazx) and the TIe advanced and Interceptors are the fastest ships in the galaxy, all using 100% of the engine's top speed.


Personally as an Imperial Ace, I have a Bomber and Aggressor, and may eventually get a decimator. I basically always use my Bomber unless someone wants a ride and i get em in my turret. Never had an oppressor or firespray. Had an advanced and an interceptor as i worked my way up, but I love the bomber.


Also considered a TIE/IN.


What im saying is the scyk, light duty tie, normal tie, and z-95 suck. plain and simple, not enough mass on anything else.

the masses are nice.

outfitting the low mass ships is an art by itself. look for the screaming vengance thread below.

basically you trade mass for handling.

when you make a 165k mass interceptor you would have to reduce the handling to balance it.

and then you have? yes - an oppressor.


the last thing i want to face in kessel would be a 180k mass A-Wing with normal A-Wing handling.

I think Ace options come in the form of loading out and using what you have. I've got a beast of an opressor that can tank anything in PVE. For my PVP patrols I use a TIE Advanced. Sure she doesn't have the mass of my opressor but she's got a nice RE'd pre-nerf reward engine that screams (even more so with EO4), and a nice 4000+ max damage ion that is more than enough to deal with any player shield. She's got no armor, and just enough sheilding to take a few hits from a gunboat and keep on trucking. Then there is the agressor for training and xp gathering for new pilots, and the decimator for..well...chicks dig it.


The point is that you've got what you need and you do have options, just play around with them more. Tey outfitting an Interceptor and you'll be amazed at how well you can equip one for PVP.


Sure some changes would be nice but PVP is perfect, fast and deadly, PVE could use some more content but is still nice, and I think the ships are balanced well.


And as for the Firespray....for PVE they are awesome. for PVP they are multi-million credit slag heaps. If I had a million credits for every Johnny Cool ace pilot I shot down in his firespray I'd be able to afford to buy a couple of them so I could go out and get shot down too


Just use what you've got and experiment a little. Anyone can get an Ace Pilot tag over their heads, but not all of them are Ace pilots.

well the only pvp fight i had were, one duel which i won because the other player had ship which turns to slow( he couldn't track) and the other two i was overt in deep space fighting some npc's while a player sneaks form the back and fired one alpha strike to brake my shields. only knew he was there because he flew through my debries.maybe overt players should get a different symbol on the radar, because they fight totaly differnd and with more powerfull weapons then the npcs.

for me there is no need of master interceptors (how would you know that this guy is a master) for me the level ten loot and crafted stuff should have more power or lower mass. because the way it is now they are only usefull for the multiplayer ships and even the shield seems quite worthless to me or i just didn't had good gunners. but have shields with the same stats like the shields of an agile fighter it seem a little off balance. maybe the muliplayer ships should have a mulitplier or just a bonus on the shield regeneration
