Hi, Headbone here.

Hello to the jtl community. More and more we hear the problem: Space is empty. I am part of a 100+ Rebel/Neutral Wing contingent in Valcyn. Valcyn, known for a low galaxy population would be expected to have very little action seen in space but a friend of mine and I have found an extremely effective way of overcoming this. We are known as the 77th "Phoenix" Wing. We have a reputation across our galaxy as being the elite, some of the best to take flight. I'm not bragging, im not boasting, im just simply addressing the fruits of this endeavor. Way back when JTL came out we were just a little group of friends just finishing off eachother's first corvette mission. We all had our little circles of friends overlapping into others. My friend Grage, making the point that the friends lists of Valcyn were dwindling, decided to become proactive and founded the 77th "Phoenix" Wing with no more than 10 pilots to its name. His idea: to create a highly organized friends list of a sqaudron. It is true, we are not a guild, not a PA, not a city, we don't exist in normal terms. We have our own chat channel, our own Player Events comitee board, a high command liason, 30 aces, over a hundred pilots, masters and trainers for every tier, and wingmen right and left. We aren't a guild so we require nothing of any member but to contribute what they can, make an effort to attend meetings, and get to know Valcyn's finest. I have compiled a guide to help figure head players create their own wings and really get involved in space. So here it goes, follow these to the letter.

1. Carefully think about how you want to organize this, our Wing is organized into sqaudrons of the pilots choosing, its more of a benefit to be in a sqaudron but it does not detract from the wing you create.

2. Find every pilot you know to join your NON GUILD wing, explain the benefits, and keep the friends list growing.

3. Tell every pilot to find every pilot they know to join your non guild wing.

4. Just keep repeating steps 2 and 3 until youve grown to about 50 or 60 pilots strong, by then the events of organization will play themselves out. You will eventually build a reputation as being a strong dependable wing.

From here player events are always a topic at meetings and a group for a corvette run is always there. Space will seem alot smaller. My wing is always encouraging imps to get off the ground, because they seem to be scarred of us or somthing lol. Try it, it works. IT seems that many people like the idea of it being non guild. That way people can be in a a guild and still be part of the wing, not worry about contribution and still have fun. GOOD LUCK!

If you or anyone you know in Valcyn that is sympathetic to the Rebel cause in space, give me (headbone) or grage an IG mail and we can hook you up with Valcyn's Finest.

It's too bad you guys aren't on Wanderhome. I think I have the beginnings of an Imperial wing here (almost two squadrons in my guild). There is no rebel equivalent that I am aware of, but we do arrange events (though not recently) with rebel guilds. Perhaps the rebels from wanderhome (and Imperials) will see this post and help things happen.

Yeah, this is a great idea, Headbone, and I think it is very good to bring the group activity back to SWG with the possibilities of JTL. I think there should be at least one per faction on each server to make space more interesting! 5 stars for you!

I always wanted to do something like this on Starsider, but never really knew how I would get it done.

Thanks Headbone, this guide really helps.

I've just got to say, I've flown with the 77th as a Smuggler's Alliance Master Pilot for a couple of months now and there really is no better run "non-organization" in Valcyn. I've yet to get bored or frustrated by "lack of content" in JTL. Heck, I've even left the DWB on occasion, or simply bailed on a buff session, to jump up into Kessel and assist a fellow pilot. And as a Master Smuggler playing since launch week, my friends list has as least 60 more people on it now than it used to.

BTW Headbone, when I get back from vacation I have some ideas to share with you and/or Grage that might be useful. I'll look you up.

The Empire isnt scared they are trying to keep Tatooine from being overrun by Rebels on the groundI imagine. Valcyn isactually lucky in the fact that neither faction completely dominates the GCW right now. As for forming an Imperial Wing I hope Cailie eventually gets around to doing it since he said he was going to work on it.
