Thread: How do I finish off the endless Valarians?

I'm doing the tier 4 mission between boxes 3 and 4, neutral Tat. The mission is to disable and inspect a Valarian gunship near Dant, then to go to Tat and take out every single Valarian. So far I have been fighting an endless stream of Tier 1 Valarians for more than 2 hours. Does it never end? Or have I missed something important? (I'd like to stop but I'd don't dare, cuz I'd probably have to do it all over again...)
I've taken temporary R&R next to the space station, but how do I finish this mission?

Your a tier 4 pilot and your fighting tier 1 ships as part of a tier 4 mission?
That somehow doesn't sound right.
Your mission might of taken you to the constant spawn of Valarians and hutt ships in the Tatooine system.
Those are all tier one ships too and you can stay there all day and they will just instantly respawn.
So, what I'd do if I were you is look at your radar screen and look for only dots with yellow boxes around them.
Thoseshould be your missiontargets, not those tier 1 ships.

No, almost but not the same. Part 1 is a docking, and wasn't very hard. Just a couple of Valarian gunboats.
Part 2 was just to kill all Valarians over Tatooine. No dockings or anything like that.

If it's the mission I am thinking stop fighting these things and go to the destination. Check your journal as these guys may just be here to keep you from where you need to go. I remember a mission like that. Only thing, they were tier 4. But maybe the mission was bugged somehow with the update.

What happened was that I fought them for two hours, then started in-system jumps to the space station for repairs and rest. Each time I went back to my waypoint and more Tier 1 Valarians spawned. The third or fourth time, nothing spawned and no Valarians showed up as targets. After 5 minutes I gave up and jumped to Dath.
When I arrived there I got a message that I had abandoned my mission. But the trainer acted as if nothing had ever happened, and just gave me my choice of duty missions.
Go figure.....

Sounds like the one where you have to meet a ship and dock with it... Basically the spawn never ends until you dock at the WP... So here's what you do... Disable (do not destroy) all the ones you see... then hit IFF and boost away... go to the WP that you're given, and await the ship you need to dock with... If more come in at that time, disable them as well... Then dock with the ship and they'll stop spawning and you'll pass the mission...
At least that's the mission it sounds like...

You sure it wasn't a duty mission then??? They never end... they are just for grinding XP...

Actually, they do end. It just takes quite some time and many, namy enemies and hours before you get the mission complete.
To me, it was one of my benchmarks to complete a tier 4 duty mission just myself and a friend. Lots of fun for a Saturday.

Sure didn't seem like a duty mission. I didn'thave he standard three choices. I had just finished box 3 and she gave me this mission to steal the cargo from a Valarian ship. After I did that, she gave me more to do, just like a standard special mission.

Well you have way more patience than I do... I just got a check ride in an MP ship each time I needed an XP grind to the next mission...
