ive had a couple of cases of this, the first was me flying to an imperial space station to down some TIEs,so im fighting a few stragglers and i see lot of red blips approacing,oh boy a challenge, ive always been one for the reb vs imp impossible odds,so i get hit a few times, kill off the TIE i was tailing, and start swerving...im still beign hit,i swerve more, twisting and turning like a friggen greased squirrel on crack, they keep hitting, soon as i know it my rear armor is gone, and its impossible to dodge their shots,so i just eject,so later on im doing and escort mission,it runs through a large group of TIEs,same deal,dead-eye never miss shots, and 30 of em,before that it was a mission to go to a waypoint to destroy 4 TIEs,it was in a TIE space, same deal, cant dodge anything no matter how i swerve..this one needs a fix, quickly, its making the missions enarly impossible

Might need a better turning engine...most crafters make engines for speed, not turning. Check the stats on your gear and try again.

Yepnear the end of beta they turned the npc's AI up a good bit, and it made for agood challenge till i tried doing the tier 3 rebel missions, then it just got annoyinghow fast and accurate they were, but it looks like they slowed them down somewhat, though they still never hardlymiss.I was hoping they'd fix it before it went live too

I noticed this as well. I was doing the missions for the alliance from corella. I think is is an ongoing mission because they kept on spawning. At first it was one on one. Then 2 on one. All the Ties were teir 1. Then i get the message that the empire is sending an ace after me. He was tier 2. A little harder but not much. I found that he was just a little faster than me. I continue the mission loop again and when I got the the ace, there were 2 of them. I lost my rear shields really fast. I managed to defeat them both though and only lost half my rear armor. Did the loop again and got 3 Aces now. I managed to defeat them but had 50% damaged stuff.

They never miss. When they shoot, they hit.

I also noticed that when you do get some friendly NPCs, and thay attack one of the TIEswith you, they tend to ram your ship. I think their AI need turned up a bit.

I was thinking it odd that my dodging seemed to have no affect as well. I figure it's just because it's a starter ship. If in an interceptor or aggressor and it's still like this, then I might be a little more worried.

I totallyagree on this point. I played all yesterday and made it to tier 2 on Lok. I was doing fine with the tier 1 missions, but the ties were still hitting everytime. But the tier 2 ships are just wrecking me. It's barely even a challenge. They come at you with 2 ties, the one that you attack will fly around you in circles, while the other one just blasts you no matter what you do. I wish I could lock on to my targets like they do.

I was able to nail Tier 3 Tie Interceptors using a crafted Y-Wing and looted engines with boosters. You've got no chance against them without those components, though.

I dislike the ground game because its so easy and during beta JTL felt more like a shooting gallery where you get ducks to line up in a row. All you needed to do was to pull the trigger.

In comparison now, AI has gotten allot more aggressive. Point is to make AI good the programmers always have to sneak in a few cheats because AI will never be as smart as a real player (yet anyway in anything but chess, look at deep blue).

Bottom line is out of the extremes, I would rather take almost impossible to beat AI than another game of asteroids.

The fact that they're so accurate makes up for the fact that they die quickly. You can't expect to wade through 20,000 enemies without a break, and then want them to also not hit you.

Yep. Those loops get harder and harder. When you get a player made frame and higher tier components, this will get easier. Just stick with it. That, and two enemy aces of your level just plain hurt.

During Beta, I specialized in testing unexperimented crappola parts in crap space frames. I still did okay. Going up tiers helps a whole lot. When you start putting in those Tier3 parts, you'll notice a big improvement.

What does need to happen is more bolts need to be seen as missing. The way it is now, they "lock on" and then about every 10 seconds or so and always hit. What is needed, is for them to fire every 2 seconds and show the bolts zipping past you. That would not change the amount of damage that they do now, but would greatly increase the tempo of the battle and show that they do NOT hit every time.

This issue is not so bad at lower levels, the problem occurs when you face unlimited waves of tier 3's and above, where their weapons take down your shields badly...

And if you meet a turretted ship, forget it... you're history.
