Not sure if anyone else has had this trouble, but I have had great difficulty even finding my target for combat. I get attacked, usually from behind or out of sight, and the enemy stays behind me and hammers me until I die. I have no chance of gaining any xp this way. During the combat, I look for targeting brackets, and see none. I look for targeting pointers or indicators to tell me where to point my ship, and to my surprise, there are none. I look at my radar, and the enemy doesn't appear on my radar, probably because it's this "fish eye' thing instead of a 360 degree bird's eye view, which is supposed to make fighting some how "easier"
I would greatly appreciate it if there was a blinking red targeting bracket around the ship that was unmistable so you could identify who was attacking you, a nice yellow, white, or bright red targeting pointer in our HUD to show us where they're attacking from, and a way to uniquely identify the enemy on radar so we can discriminate between them and other fighters in the area. I noticed there was a "targeting pointer" toggle in the options menu, but it doesn't seem to work since every time I've been in combat both in beta and now in the full release, i've looked for it never seen it.
I would be wonderful if we could /follow ships in space both in combat and in general. They don't have to jump right into our reticle, but some way to follow other vessels like in the core game would help tremendously. So what if they shake us off, then we could /follow again. The AI can obviously do it, why not us? Would someone in development mind taking notice of request and helping us out in this area?
Thanks.
