I just bought a Y-wing and installed all the parts in it. I installed 2 weapons. One for the driver and one for the gunner. I went into space to test it out, but neither of the guns fire. If they weapons weren't compatible wouldn't it not let me load them? I guess its back to the Z95 for me.

Check to make sure you have enough power.
When you manage you ship under the image you will see 3 lines.
Chasis
Reactor
Mass
If your Reactor is colored RED you are drawing to much power....and will need to remove stuff or get a better one.

Check your energy, I'm guessing you loaded more energy than you could, buy a better capacitator.

Hardly.
First off, you can only fire 1 gun in the y-wing without a passenger in the turret, so if you dont have a passenger, pull that gun out to help with energy requirements.
Second, make sure you:
1) have a capacitor loaded and
2) the capacitor has enough energy output to power both guns.
When your guns dont fire, it's an energy issue... plain and simple. Find the problem and resolve it, and the guns will fire.

Hehe, yeah, weapons can't fire w/o a capacitor, that's what powers them, not the reactor, the reactor powers the capacitor, but the capacitor is what powers your weapons, can't fire w/o that.

BINGO!! Dealing with all the ship components and how they work together is a little involved, but you'll get the hang of it in no time.
