I just received my JTL box from Ebgames today and very prominently, at the top of the box, it states "Expansion One." This of course begs the question, will there Although it pays to be skeptical with SOE, I take this as a hopeful sign.

Devs, can you comment on the possiblity of a second expansion? What would be the subject matter? New planets? New Elite-Elite professions or other hybrid professions? The GCW (this should be definitely be a free update)? New Dungeons?

Players,

What you want as an expansion if SOE did. The combat balance and GCW revamp are the most pressing things and they need to be a free update.

I suppose this is jumping the gun a bit, but expansions take a long time to plan and it might be a good idea to think about this subject.

Planets

  • Dagobah

  • Hoth

  • Bespin

  • Coruscant (yeah, I know they said they'd never do it)

  • Homeworlds of all the player species

  • Ord Mantell

POIs

  • The shipyards from the EU

Ground Combat Vehicles (AT-ST, AT-AT, Snow Speeder, etc)

Player controlled capitol ships/space stations(this should be the free JtL analogy to player cities)

Those should already be in an ideal version of this game.

The next expansion should be dealing with the Chiss storylines hinted at in the Heir to the Empire books.

This is starwars online. Hoth, the battle on and off endorwith second deathstar etc...

These (if the game stays alive) are all going to come about.

This is alot bigger in scale to just a game like say battlefront. I know you may say well duh, but no really look at it, "live your saga" it says. The overall aim here is literally virtual starwars, everything starwars is, was, and will be.

Episode 3 when it comes out for instance will probably introduce new things, and they will appear in the game like wise, in space and below. Alike to the pod racer helmets etc.

"if you build it they will come"...

Honestly with so many starwars fans literally praying for the day they can land their ship actually in tatooine space port, or take part on the battle for hoth...and not in an arcade style with their actuall charicters...can you honestly see them not doing this. Logic states if they find a way too (and as technology upgrades hardware &software) I don't doubt for an instance they won't. Sure it will be hard to do, but if things didn't happen because of that..there would be no SWG or JTL in the first place...now would there.

Fowler defines "begging the question" as the "fallacy of founding a conclusion on a basis that as much needs to be proved as the conclusion itself."

In short begging the question means coming to a conclusion where the 'proof' itself hasn't been proven

the proof and conclusion you seek, is in the confidence of money to be made, and the fact it surely will.

I think if they were to do what you are saying,it would be SWG 2, not an expansion.

They'd have to make the SWG timeline dynamic to continue in the saga. As it stands now it's a static one.

They won't have the time for swg2. Everquest was just that everquest. Starwars is an internet interpretation of an entertainment fantasy universe, in book, film, tape,CD, Video,DVD,game,cartoon... form. I can't see the sense it a stopping point, and then another starting....

How it is? there was a gap between the films a new hope and empire strikes back. Events may not be totally mirroring the film but they won't go on a total direction all together.

TH stated in the Beta forums that "what's next" is the "Combat Upgrade". The GCW goes hand in hand with this. Once this is done they will then announce "what's next" after that. I expect an expansion with new planets, species, vehicles, careers.

Personally though for the next expansion I would LOVE to see it entitled "Jedi Purge"

After Yavin, the Rebel Alliance moved briefly to Corellia, then Hoth. They should be on Hoth by now if the timeline was dynamic.

Who says they won't be moving to Hoth in the near future?
