Thread: Serious question for Dev's : Playing JtL without using a CD

I like most people in UK was a little annoyed at not being able to play the JtL expansion when i hoped. however i have now followed various threads on these boards and have purchased a CD key and am currently patching JtL. my questions with regards to this are as follows?
1. is this legal? if not it would be useful if someone (an SOE representative) posted something before people continue doing this. i am assuming by the silence it is legal 
2. will it work properly? if it doesn't again some sort of announcement would be appreciated before people moan and say my JtL expansion doesnt work.
3. If it doesnt work how can it be fixed. As my CD is in amaerica and i only have the CD key im not sure how im going to do with the CD. Will it need patching by download or will i have to buy a second copy just to install the CD.
I hope this raises a few legitimate concerns and gets a few sensible replies from people in the know. i have read that the game appears to work fine without the CD and have also read it doesn't.
Hopefully some sort of answer will be forthcoming, even if its only posted on the announcements board.

btw i have read the message on announcments about NOT addressing messages to devs and it is not my intention to cause problems.
its just this problem (if it is a problem) is now in the community and may need addressing.
the delay in europe caused this problem and made people look for ways round the delay and in the words ofMicheal Crichtonin Jurassic park "Life finds a way"
