Thread: But i cant use a crimson tie! New bug?

I did the kashyyyk station quests, and emya's quest and answered strong and he said ghregs knows im a imperial pilot and he sent me to the imp base, i did a quest there and got a imp symbol hologram and told me if i beat the corvette i'll get a crimson tie.
Problem? Umm Im a Smugglers Alliance pilot! I have no certs to fly a Crimson Tie, I am a imp on the ground but in space im freelance, am i suppose to be getting the crimson tie quest???

I think I remember one of the Devs saying it goes off your ground faction not space so it thinks your an Imp

Yeah, the award is determined using ground faction. I got the Crimson TIE too, but I'm RSF in space, so no cert to fly it either :/ I think the Dev's overlooked the possibility of players that are in a faction on the ground but neutral in space.

Yeah, they messed up these ones. Unlike the Jedi Starfighter and the ARC-170 you are not supposed to be able to have these ships and use them unless you are that pilot faction.

Did that much... yes I'm a privateer, but rebel colonel on ground... did the escort missions from Kashyyyk Station as well as the guy on the ground (forget his name) then they had me go to the rebel outpost... so I have the "I want a challenge" option from both the rebel outpost and the kashyyyk station... my question is, if I take it from the rebel outpost will the stick me with the ARC (which I don't want on this toon) or will they give me the Vaksai? Or should I take the "I want a challenge" option from Kashyyyk station.

YOU GET BOTH. as said in the pilot forums, you do the factional mission and get your faction ship then return and choose the "I WANT A CHALLENGE" to get the vaksai
