Thread: the JTL endgame needs work

deep space and kessel both have the ability to become interesting zones, but they still need a lot of work to maintain interest in the JTL endgame.

what if in deepspace, psuedo-scripted battles erupted between frigates and corvettes, and factional pilots needed to help?

what if pirate fleets attempted to board and destroy the space station?

what if speaking to the space station or star destroyer could generate escort or destroy missions in other sectors, missions that required overt flying as well as competition from other factionally opposed overt pilots?

something?

anything?

i'm working on the theory that the endgame is where players are after the majority of their xp-grinding has been wrapped up.

now, the JTL missions were hardly "grinding", in fact, i really enjoyed them. but, now that hte missions are over and i have access to the PvP zone, i feel...well... bored.

What exactly is an endgame anyway?

I've always thought of it as this magical state of gaming nirvana that, in all reality, doesn't exist.

Kinda like chasing rainbows for a pot of gold.

IMO, a JTL endgame should be something similar to raids in other MMO,

So...i would imagine gathering like 40+ ships to take on the Super Star Destroyer maybe?

totally.

i also wouldn't mind seeing pirate bases (or other space "dungeons")built into asteroids, where, the first step of the adventure would be to take down the picket ships and base defense turrets, then you would have to blast into the landing bay and fight your way (and explore) through the base.

You folks need to head up to deepspace. Got your ISD right there. Just need imp players to defend it

I was doing my Imp missions yesterday ( i was previous a Rebel), and it occurs to me:

We have this planetary "conquest" system where bases count as points. Well, I think that in the core systems, and ISD should come in and a Rebel cruiser should come in. Obviously, these would have to be far enough out of the way to not just annihiliate people randomly, but the idea I had is that they would count as say, 50 or 75 points while they were alive. When they get destroyed, they take a day or so to respawn. That would be a start to integrating the ground game with space AND giving some further endgame content. Plus, the lack of Star Destroyers in the game is sad. Yes, I realize there's an ISD in deep space, but there need to be ISDs -everywhere-.

Goodbye my love, goodbye. Losing ground is what it takes if you really want to fly.

i wouldn't call a pointless static spawn a cool endgame benefit.
i like what the previous poster said about integrating the GCW and JTL... it would be great to see battles in space effect the ground game, and vice versa

It's not the ISD you should be intrested in

As for JTL/GCW, it's old hat. We in the pilot community have been suggesting stuff for months. Don't hold your breath, aint happening anytime soon. Right now the best "end Game" challenge your going to find, is another pilot.

You want to effect the GCW from space?

Here's what you do.

Get an organized team effort to faction farm DS. Its the best farm in the game. Use FP you earn to buy bases for your faction. Give/Sell them if you have to. You'll arguably aquire bases alot faster than anyone else. Eventually someone will figure out that they need to stop you.

I suggested a kind of arena type space sim that players could use in cantinas in my short post here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=183258

that might keep people interested even if not normal space
