I'm a rebel pilot 2211. Lady Viopa has given me a mission where I've done the following:

Talk to a smuggler at Tyrena Cantina, Vreck I think his name was.
He had me go to Rori and find a downed pilot. * This is where I am stuck.

The waypoint that I need to go to and inspect something(not sure what yet. The problem is that the waypoint is covered in level 55 mercenaries that are agro and baf in groups of 5.

Any tips?

I think you spoke to the wrong person. The NPC who starts Rebels on the Secrets of the Syren ground quest is also in the Tyrena Cantina, and that is what you're describing.
