duh,,,,it could have been done so much better.....why they dont seem to bother with the extra polish that really adds immersion i dont know.
I was hoping that from the ground at a busy starport you would see lots of player ships landing and taking off. It gives the feeling of a real connection between the groundand space game.
Would itreally have taken a great deal of effort to allow you to fly down to the surface? I know only a small map of the planet is modelled but you could follow a set path in that you couldnt deviate from....when reachinga certain altitude the ground map is loaded ..you then follow a set path to starport and land.
sigh....ah well....i knew they would never have gone to those lengths
ok imagien this.......
How long did it take LucasArts LTD. to make Episode 2 flying scenes, SCRIPTED.
Now, to make it in game, you have to make a scene by scene replica of EACH ttype of ship, with EACH paint job, with EACH weapon, with EACH planet...with EACH starport, and then the angles and such....it would take TONS of work.....

No... They just have to make an in-game movie. All they have to do is take the client model of the ship and insert into the movie. They don't have to make a dynamic, 3d movie.

I don't knwo producing but still, even if it doesn't take me long to make the movie, it'd take em a long time to code it, de-bug it, and ect.
