Not sure if anyone else has this problem but it is a problem.
I am a tie fighter pilot in the storm squadron stationed on yavin4. The guy I talk to for missions WONT train me.. im 2211 and i have enough xp to get to tier 3. Ive tried everything i can think of, aborting missions, talking to my old trainers, etc.. This happened to me before and I dont know how it was fixed it but i gave up on jtl for a few weeks because of it. My xp is now at least going up when i kill an enemy ship (was stuck before at the 60k max for tier 1). Basically, I think that even if you are currently on a mission, shouldnt your "TRAINER" "TRAIN" you? He just says come back when your mission is done. What if someone wasnt good enough to complete a mission but with his 200k experience just sitting there could get a better ship with some training???
Frustrated,
Mons
p.s. I did submit a bug report.. not sure if that was the right thing to do but this problem does put a huge blockade in the way of advancement in my game.

don't you have to complete a mission before you can get trained again? if your stuck on a mission get your friends to help you out. Not everything can be done alone.it's fun to try but sometimes you do have to get help.

The way the pilot progession works in JTL (as I'm sure you know)is you have to have enough xp plus finish the required missions. Are you sure have finished all the required missions?

Don't know about Imps, but Tier 2 for Smugglers alliance you could not train without completing an assignment first.
Tier 3, however, you don't have to have the XP to train, just complete the missions.
Try completing your missions and you should be able to train. If you have trained 2-2-1-1, you should have 2 more missions to complete, with training available after each one, before you can advance to tier 3. Good luck. =)

I was in the same position yesterday. I have to complete one mission then he trained me. I was actually 2211 with enough experience to get to 2222 so he trained me twice.

If you have an outstanding duty mission, you don't have to complete it- just right click the mission in the datapad and chose end duty.

If you are only 2211 you cannot train in tier 3 until youve complete tier 2 (you must be 2222 before starting on tier 3) if your saying you cannot train past 2211 its because you HAVE to complete the mission, even if you have the exp... you have to complete EVERY mission from the trainer to be trained... tier 3 missions do not even require you to use exp to train in them... you can just complete then mission and train even if you dont have the exp, that is why the tier 3 missions are super hard. Not all missions are like this, tier 2 you will still have to get the req exp AND complete the mission, to be trained. It may seem broken since its not the same as ground game, but its not, its just a different way to progress, instead of just grinding exp to fill bars

I have the same problem as well. I am 1211 and have 200,000 Combat experience but cant train. When I was 1111 I couldn't train either. I went to another trainer on a different planet and trained to get up to 1211. But that trick isn't working now. Kind of stinks if I can't train till I finish my mission, I'm not getting any XP for my kills only loot (which I could care less about). Suggestion would be trainers seperate from mission assigners. I hope my mission is almost done, such a waste.

Are you doing a duty mission? Those have no real end, and don't get you training. Once you have the xp, go back to your trainer and he'll give you a mission that's not a duty mission. That's what you have to complete to train. The only thing duty missions are for are to help you get xp.

This was done to prevent power leveling.
I don't like it either. I'm stuck at 4,4,3,3 with enough XP to get 4,4,4,3 and almost halfway to 4,4,4,4...But stupid <censorded> TIE Aggressors and their Uber Turret, which is the ONLY Tier 4 ship I have a problem with, whack my shields in 1 or2 hits. Most of my guild members are Imperial...so I can't get them to help. lol And the ones that are Privateer/Rebel are not on when I am. lol I'm hosed. lol

I don't think this was a duty mission. It was from the trainer on Lok, the one I was sent to after I did the first trainer for the 1111 acquisition.

You have to complete the mission to get the training. Get a group together if you can't do it solo.
