Well i can tell allready it's going to take forever for me to find a group to do this.

When you do the mission .. is it one corvette per pilot? .. in other words does only one pilot get the credit for completing the mission? Or does it credit any with the mission taking part?

If it's only one pilot per vette destruction that's going to make it near impossible to find enough people to do it.

I took some pot shots at a "Corellian Corvette" in Kessel yesterday .. couldn't get it's shields to budge, and it kept draining mine pretty quick. Is this "the" corvette? Or is there one that shows as a mission critical target? This one had a couple gunboats and some fighters escorting.

Finally the mission doesn't fail when I leave system, etc. Does it fail if you die?

Not that dying is in any way likely in Kessel .. the gunboats there just roll over and die, and the fighters (what few there are) are allways pre-occupied. Seriously I wish I'd explored Kessel when I was grinding tier 4 boxes, the gunboats in Kessel are great exp, and easier than anything in the tier 3 missions. Takes no time at all to rack up a mil exp.

Get a group together...it will really help

Anyone that needs the mission for Master will getcredit if they are grouped and in Kessel when it goes down.

The mission does not fail if you die or leave system but you must be present in the system when the ship goes down to get credit.

hope this helps...

What server are you on? Might be able to sort a group out if its chilly

Multiple pilots can get credit, you just have to hit the bridge, and be in the system when the corvette blows.

As for which corvette it is, what prof are you? rebel, imp?

Oh and not sure about if you die, but you can leave the system.

*sigh*

That makes it a heck of a lot more attainable, the multiple pilots getting credit part.

I'm on Bloodfin ... when it's not crashing anyway.

Imp Storm Squad.

The corvette I was talking about was simply named "Corellian Corvette" but it was escorted by rebel gunboats and fighters, and showed as a hostile.

You have the correct corvette. Imperial and RSF go after the "Corellian Corvette" while Alliance and Smugglers go after the "Star Ravager." CorSec Pilots (like me) choose which set of Master missions they want to do.

To attack the corvette, you must destroy certain systems in a certain order.

Shields and Secondary Shields are targettable at the start.

Blow them and the Engines become a target.

Blow that to get to the Reactor.

The last system is the bridge.

There are also 8 turrets on the ship - five on 'top' and one each on the sides and the 'bottom'

Most normal assaults I've seen use a whole lot of people throwing a whole lot of ordnance at the corvette. While this may eventually work, it is extremely painful for everyone involved, and typically requires a master level multi-person ship to go in with dual Spacebomb 2s on a bombing run which is often suicidal. If you have Freelance Pilots in the assault, have them ungroup before the battle. They should (unless they have the perma overt bug - that's another thread) be able to close very close to the corvette to surgically strike specific systems and IFF afterwards. A small force of ungrouped Freelance Pilots can destroy a corvette rather easily, if done correctly.

If you want better info about what it is I'm talking about, emailShona in-game on Valcyn.

You don't need to hit the bridge or any part of thevette at all to get credit. A friend of mine and Itookthe vette missiontogether withthree or fourother people helping. We didn't even get tofire one shot at the vette, or I should say we didn't have time to shoot at it, before it went down, because the plan was that the two of us go after the escort fighters first while the others take on the vette. The whole battle lasted about 5 minutes and that's it.

Edit

The Rebel gunboats will not aggro evenwhen you start attacking the corvette soignore them. And all of youshould call bombstrike 2, Aces can call bstrike 3, before starting the attack. Five bstrikescalled simultaneously on the corvette would make it too busy to track you, making things a lot easier.
