Aye. I can't stand flying solo. It doesen't matter if I'm working as backup, or helping a newbie. Grouping seems to make it funner.

The game itself is aimed at group experiences.

first time i took down the vette for master box, i was in a group so large i cant tell you how many people were there since we couldnt fit everyone in the group. we engaged the escort ties, and i would pull right up on ones tail in my awing and start lighting him up, and then all twenty something other players would start firing too, and my whole screen was lit up with blaster fire. poor tie pilot, almost felt sorry for him.... well, mabee not

From the start, for me anyway, jtls felt like a grind. A grind to get xp, if only to get a small ammount, but also, I felt like I paid £20 just to be able to not wait for starport shuttles.

I grinded, with a grudge I might add, to 2/2/1/1 rebel pilot. Now to allow to be trained in the next tier 2 box, I had to complete a mission where I had to protect a scientist as he left a staition, being attacked by wave after wave of tie fighters, tie advanced and intercepters. (as well the the inquisition intercepters).

Anyway, having got my 'long probe' and level 5 components, I attempted the mission the first time. I lasted to about the seccond wave then the guy in the Z-95 was wiped out.

I tried it again, thinking a change of components would allow me to fire faster, move quicker and generally kill everything that tried to attack the Z-95

I was wrong.

So then I thought, enough was enough, and got 2 other people to help me out.

The experience was amazing. We fought like a well oiled machine, each getting targets off each others backs, taking out ties together, and on our own.

I felt a sense of adventure and fun I have not felt about this game since I got it.

Not only that, but the feeling of not actually moving anywhere in space (planets not getting bigger/smaller etc) is lost when your having so much fun dropping behind intercepters and destroying them.

This is what jtls is supposed to be for me, a fun and star warsy experience.

Anyway, my thoughts over, just wanted to vent in on here

I suggest trying the same on the ground game, get iton groups , do the corvets go to the dungons,if you can solo it so what do it in a group anyway it's so much more fun.

I am so glad JTL is set up this way.

This is something that this game has been missing for quite a while. When SWG first launched there were tons of groups all over the place hunting down various beasts, going on missions together. I loved getting melee and ranged groups together to go huurton hunting or picket hunting on Dantooine. We depended on each other and enjoyed the strategy of it all. JTL has brought that whole thing back again and I for one am glad to see it happening.

I soloed all the way through to my tier 4 exit mission. I knew from Beta that grouping was even better but had not felt like I needed a group until that tier 5 gunboat was thrown at me. I brought on 2 other pilots for it and remembered... I remembered my first rancor hunt: there were 12 of us, unbuffed, it was insane (I had never been to Dathomir before). We travelled on foot from the outpost and fought our way to the first lair. It was raining, my speakers were turned up. The smattering of rain the blaster fire, amazing.

We tore through the TIE's without breaking a sweat and then it showed with an escort of 4 firesprays. We formed up with them on either wing and tore into the firesprays, then the pulse quickened as we agreed to target the weapons first. The hum of the engines, my speakers were turned up. The engines, the missiles, the explosions, the blaster fire, amazing.

The master mission against the vette was even better, a full group of 20 (my mission we had 9 but I run it as often as possible now and this one was the best) we took out all of the escorts, the gunboats and finally the vette within 8 minutes. AMAZING.

But for the best experience, get 5 people (up to 8), and load up into a MP ship. The YT is the best IMO for its pure Star Wars feel. Load it up and go hunting. Head to Endor, head to Dathomir and HUNT for other high level MP ships. A battle that is truly amazing. The imperials swarm, you'll quickly find yourself against 6 or so tier 4 or 5 ties and a decimator... breathtaking as the klaxons blare and plasma fires erupt, your crew running around repairing them your quads pounding BOOM BOOM BOOM.. the decimator comes into sight, head on, you get the tone and launch a pair of space bombs at him, his shields and armor gone he starts to play more thoughtfully and circles around as the TIE's quickly turn into cloud after cloud of space dust... .soon it is just you and them... his shields are back up to 30% as you come into range, you roll to your side and the quads open up, matching his shot for shot... THAT is truly amazing.

/agree. The grouping at the begining added so much to the game. Thankfully JTL has brought this back, if your not enjoying it, get in a group.

If your on Chilly and your stuck on the rebel/freelance missions, drop me a mail. And i'd be glad to help out Anyone that is.

Absolutely agree.

Welcome to group tactics and play. After all isn't that what an MMO is about? The ground game was better when you couldn't group up and solo the world. The economy was better to and you didn't pay 20 mil for anything good in game either.

Flying shot gun for guildmates or whoever is fun. Even better is getting yourfriends on the YT and taking them up as well. Then it really is good.
