I'm starting an alt who will be a Rebel pilot. Wanted to know which squad was the best to fly for. Looking for a challenge

If you want a challenge, go with the Crimson Squad. I consider myself to be a pretty decent pilot, and it started to get challenging solo at around mid tier 3. Not impossible, just challenging.

How do you join a squadron?
Admittedly, I'm only a 2-1-1-1 Rebel pilot, but I havn't seen anything in-game about joining different squads.

The squad you join is dependant on which trainer you choose at the beginning. So if you've already progressed into the Rebel tree, you're already on a squad
