Thread: Where do i get mining lasers?

I just mastered pilot, and can only get the elite components for my YT-1300 by mining the resources i need in space. I want to know where you get the NON y-8 mining lasers that can go on fighter ships.

To start mining go to Kashyyyk and on the second level of the great tree you will find a bar. At the bar converse with several NPC's untill you come to one that says he is a stranded miner and wants you to deliver a message for him. This will take you on a long quest where you will get mining lasers and cargo holds. At the end of the quest you will be given a Y-8. This will get you the basics so you can mine the resources to get the rest of your components. All of the elite and mining components require asteroid resources now.

If you want better parts than the mining quest, you need to get them from shipwrights, they use a good amount of asteroid resources so you may want to work out a deal to get the resources for him, lessens the cost a little.
