Thread: JTL Pre Order Rant

Frankly I couldn't be more upset with the JTL pre order, this is an international game but yet the only two stores you can pre-order it from are both in the US and want retarded shipping rates to other countries. Not to mention if you dont live in the US you are also going to hit with duties and taxes when your game arrives. This is a load of BS. You think Sony or Lucas arts would have atleast given some ditributers in other countries the pre-order option. I am not going to pay $30US for the game, plus $15US for shipping, plus duties and taxes then convert that into my currency and end up paying $80 for an expansion game which I can pick up at a local retailer for about $35 in my currency. We all don't live in the US Sony.

Congrats Sony\LA you have ruined a great game.

Sony is an American company. LucasArts is an American company. We have to pay taxes when we buy Japanese cars and German beer. What makes you think you're above paying taxes on our products?

Not to belittle your dilemma – If this product was developed and produced in the UK, The US would be seeing the same result. The answer to your problems is to have a download site for people in the UK and other counties to getting this without paying for shipping and Taxes. It's too soon to tell if they are going to allow this, it appears they want to keep close control over who is registering the game with them.

If Sony were to turn their focus to Customer Satisfaction and not just Profit – I believe this game would be more accessible to everyone at the same time and result in bigger profits for them.

For the record Haan Salan, Sony is a Japanese company. And you missed the point completely. If you want to buy a Japanese car you don't order it from Japan you order it from a local dealer in your country. Sony/Lucasarts regardless of whether they are american or not should have had distributors in other countries since they also market this game in other countries. It was never about tax, I pay taxes on EVERYTHING I buy, whether I buy it locally, out of province or out of country. The point was that because they didn't set up distributors in other countries people living in other countries will have to pay more for the same game you get which is not fair. We have to pay higher shipping fees which we wouldn't have to do if they had a canadian distributor for canadian players and British distributor for UK players etc. We also have to pay a duty fee which you don't have to pay. If Sony/Lucasarts sells a product in other countries they should find a way to make FAIR for those players too.

Congrats Sony\LA you have ruined a great game.

I just realized something reading another message thread.

The rule for getting the flash speeder (you have to register on the day) also apply to the luxury yacht.

So just because we happen to live in the UK means that we also aren't going to get the luxury yacht either.

I've been playing this game for my 8th month now and I've been looking forward to getting that yacht and now I feel I've just wasted all those months for nothing.

stuart

Wrong-O. You don't need to apply to anything to be eligible for the yacht. You just have to subscribe for 6 months. You'll get a message in-game that says you're eligible, and it'll tell you to type a command to claim your reward.

You'll still be getting your yacht when JTL launches.
