Thread: Will The New Professions add problems with our skill points?

From what i hear the skill points are staying exactly the same and the their are 4 new professions being added to the game. I think the profession skill points should be raised in order for us to keep what we have for profesions and add pilot or shipwright as an extra option. I believe most of you who haveworked hard on your current profesions would agree that if we have to drop a skill to advance pilot or shiwright would cause problems with your current professions especially if you are a Jedi.

TH has posted that pilot doesn't use up any additional skill points, shipwright though will cost skill points as it's a crafter profession.

The new pilot professions do not consume "regular" skill points (i.e. the skill points used for all other professions). The shipwright profession does consume regular skill points.

At one point way back, Holocron stated that when they added new professions, the number of skill points would be adjusted upward, such that players would have 10% of the skill points needed to master ALL skills. That has, of course, gone by the wayside. I have not seem any indication that the number of skill points will be raised.

Pilot needs no skill points.

Jedi get an alt they can use it to make a shipwright if they want to.

I disagree...think about it.

Hypothetical:

They raise the SP's.

People don't even DO pilot or shipwright and just pursue an even greater PvP template. More will follow, and chaos will pull pilots out of space because of all the excitement on the ground.

THEN...a nerf-fix will be published and it'll just be altered back to where pilot doesn't cost any SP's.

Hmm.... *shrug*

P.S. Pilot costs NO SP's.

Shipwright does.

All Pilot Professions take 0 SP's.

Shipwright takes the normal amount to left.

Hope this helps. NDA is lifted, so ask away.

Now the NDA has lifted I can tell you that the pilot professions take NO skillpoints, Shipwright does however.

Since the NDA is lifted, here goes. Pilot profs will not use any skill points. This is common knowledge by now. Shipwright is an extension of engineering IV from artisan and costs 63 points to master (like any elite crafting prof). Question answered. Move along, move along.

Prior to JTL characters could use a maximum of 250 Skill Points. Total Skill Points required to master every profession: 2177. This does not include Jedi or Force Sensitive Skills. Including Piloting and Shipwright the Total Skill Pointswould be2240.

Please please don't fight to make our Skill Points Available 10%of Skill Points needed to master everything until it exceeds 2509.

I have not seen any indication that skill points will need to be 'raised' to the 10% number suggested. Piloting skills are 0 Skill Point cost, which is what I was really concerned about.
