How much vertical change in position is there for your craft. In Earth and Beyond, we only had incidental vertical movement.
Is JTL more of a cube with significant vertical and horizontal flight movement available?

I'm not sure what your question is.But, each space sector is a cube of 16,000mx16,000mx16,000.

only 16000m??? either the ships are slow or it takes no time at all to get to the other side of the space sector.

The answer to both questions is no. Distance and speed are relative. The ships are plenty fast in combat, trust me on this.
