Hm, after the ATI announcement i checked that little config tool and saw this:
"trackIR Version not supported"
Hm, ok, i thought, i dont have anything named like this here, but it made me curious. It seems that they've built in Headtracker-Support in SWG (or JTL for that matter). TrackIR seems to be some kind of software, that uses a webcam to determine head movements to translate this into camera movements ingame (f.e. look around in the cockpit).
Has anyone used anything like that yet? If yes, is something like this usable in games?

My brother, who is an avid flight-sim jockey, uses TrackIR all the time. He's very enthusiatic about it. I've tried to pursuade him into lending the device to me for a couple of days, so that I could try it out in JTL - but he can't live without it for a couple of days, apparently
I've tried the device at his place with IL2-Forgotten Battles. It takes a little getting used to, but the sensation of actually looking around when moving your head is really immersive. I think it would work pretty well with JTL.

ahoy,
TrackIR Enhanced support is indeed built into this JTL expansion.
you can find more info about TrackIR on the web (just google it).
i'd like to point out that TrackIR is much more precise than a web cam thing. it's more like a simplified version of a hollywood motion capture studio (you know those things where, like, andy serkis is covered in dots so he can act out "gollum" in lord of the rings?). Take one of those setups and simplify it down to 1 single dot, and you've got trackir. It's really a state of the art optical motion tracking thing.
What's really special about using TrackIR in JTL is : you can still use it to look around your cockpit while navigating the menus, maps, and conversations with your mouse, and while flying your ship with your joystick. it's a totally separate input.
