It is basiclly just like the movie. The camera cuts to an interior view and the stars begin to streak. Then the camera cuts to a rear outside view of your ship slingshotting off into space followed by a loading screen. The next thing you see is a blue tunnel followed by an interior view of the stars streaking back in as you zone in.

It used to be different and not as good, but I LOVE the way it is now.

i was just wondering how will light speed work will u see the stars streach and then u go to a load screen or do u see the stars strech and u like poof there when u come out of light speed does different hyper drives make a difference to they make light speed travel time quicker any one know this has been bothering me for a while and i cant wait 4 more days tofind out lol

you press H, which brings up the hyperspace map,. then you select your destination, it goes to a cutseene of the ship Hypering out, loaing screen, then It goes to a cutscene of it hypering in.

something else i wanted to know about light speed say my buddy is flying next to me he goes to light speed will i see his ship go into light speed

You'll see his ship slingshot off yes. Its very fast so you have to be watching it, but yes the slingshot effect is seen by other people. Likewise, if you are in a multipassenger ship, people other than the pilot on board can see the hyperspace effect happen.
