Thread: Faction differences?

Hi, I bought the ROTW DDL and am getting ready to go into space. Can somebody comment on what it's like to play the different factions in space? Is it similar to the ground game where Imperial forces are everywhere and randomly search and attack you, or does faction not really matter? What are the advantages or perks (besides which ship you can own) of each faction?

In a nutshell, if i were to think of it as the "daily dangers" each profession faces. From easiest to hardest:
Privateer - imps and rebs are yellow. Life is easy. Killing one, doesnt argo the rest of them. Attack who you want with impunity. Pirates are red, ships are big and easy to kill. Decent teir 4 missions for farming.
Imperial - Empire has a good space presense. Life is easy to medocire diffculty. plenty of stations, plenty of landing places. Pirates are easy to kill, rebel ships are easy to kill, (some of them laughably so) your one pain is the A wing. Poor Teir 4 missions for farming.
Rebel - Faces most danger on a daily basis then anyone else. Life isn't as easy as others. Almost Everyone's red to you except other rebel ships. Imperial ships are fast, with a small to mediem profile, some imperial ships are just not easy to kill or fun to face. Empire tends to be just about everywhere you go. Excellant teir 4 missions for farming.

Pick a side, fence-sitter!!!!! Go overt. Then you can shoot them.

But then I wouldn't be able to shoot both rebeland imperial ships ![]()

As a rebel 4/4/4/4, i have an awesome time being able to shoot almost everyone. Endor and Dath are great for farming, and thought I can't call in reenforcements, i don't die much. The higher level missions are possible to solo, though unlikely.

Master Rebel Pilot is fun, too. You get to attack the Star Destroyer. One of these times I'm going to destroy every turret and system on that thing just for the hell of it. So far I've managed to clear off every side gun.
