Hi,

I'm at my 2nd (as far as i remember) freenlance mission from Dravis on Tatooine. He wants me to patrol the space, and after 2 waypoints I get a message that there's a friendly freighter that needs an escort. I fly to the waypoint and meet up with the freighter. After a few minutes of flying, the black suns are coming. I shoot them down. Then more come, and so on... I made my 3rd try on this mission today, and I flew around for like 45 minutes and probably shot down more than 30 black sun fighters. Eventually, the freigther couldn't take anymore damage and went down.

Is it supposed to be this way? I mean, almost an hour for such a "simple" mission? Is it bugged? Or did I do anything wrong?

Thanks.

It's an escort mission. use the [ or ] keys to target engines and disable ships. It's faster than blowing them up. The goal is to get your escorted ship through, not kill enemy ships. Keep an eye on your targeting tho. JTL seems to 'lose' a subcomponent target when it's most critical.

Could be a little of both. Try disabling the last Black Sun ship in each group - it sometimes prevents the next group from spawning as quickly. It's been a very long time since I did that mission so I don't remember the details of how it is supposed to go.

When in doubt, find a friend to help out. If you can keep the Black Suns off the ship you're escorting and the mission still fails, you'll know it's a bug.

Thanks guys - I think disabling are the right way to go!

However, cant test it right now - ping 800ms, makes it quite impossible when an enemy is 100m away from you when you attack, and suddenly its 700m away and to the right of you, in just a sec

Also try shopping around for better parts for your ship. Stronger guns, faster engines, higher capacitors, all of these will help you take out the hostiles faster.

And finding a friend to fly with you makes it easier, and more fun too! In fact on the pilot forums theres a whole list of people who have volunteered to help other pilots with their missions.
