Its too damn hard, not enough friends to help me... so if I quit, will another IMPERIAL squad be easier?

Inquisition is easiest. Black epsilon has less A-wings, but more gunboats, on par with Storm Squadron.

one question as i havent got into much of jtl atm, im 2-2-2-2 in storm squadron. how do u give it up? surrender all boxes or what? and where is it to go to join inquisition?

Imperial pilot recruiter in front of theed palace. He can also direct you to the inquisition (starts on naboo).

I've held out so far at 3-3-2-2. Don't give up hope, but yes, it helps to have wingmen along for the missions.

You clearly didnt ask the right people you know there is a pilots helper list right...

But it seems that every single X and Y-wing that spawned was for the NPC escorters to kill, and my friend and I were only allowed to blast the A and B-wings.
you need to get away from that bomber if you want to acomplish anything in this squadron, get a interceptor they are very effective

I like my Bomber. Besides, I'm holding out for one of the pretty red ones in the next box. But I go back to my actual question. Are the ships I can actually hit SUPPOSED to be invulnerable?

you can kill them they are not invulnrable.. make sure you are using your astromech programs weapon overload and cap overload thats will aid in thier demise that much quicker

They were invulnerable. I'd shoot them, and get the "don't shoot that" buzzer, and their stats would not move. I fired at one for a good 15 seconds strait. I know I was hitting it, but nothing happened.
