Thread: EBGames & Gamestop Beta Cd's

I just got off the phone with both EBgames and Gamestop asking about my beta cd that were supposed to get for pre-ordering JTL. Both of them said the manufacture (SOE) hasnt sent them the cd's yet and to check back in a week. If my calender serves me right the beta period the cd's are supposed to be for will have already started. Not to mention the offer said they would ship at the end of september and its now 2 days into october. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Im having the same problem, i am going to best buy today cause i hear they have the pre order disks. Ill post back if im successfull cause i will then cancel my order with EB games.

Well, honestly I'm waiting to order the expansion. Since the stores can't seem to carry the bonus CD, I'm not thrilled w/ paying shipping & handling to just get some silly in game vehicle bonus. I'll wait for it show up in the stores to buy locally vs. forking out an extra $10 on shipping that could be spent wisely elsewhere.
As to the delay, maybe Sony is delaying the release of the expansion... (shocking indeed if they do since they always push out a game before it's ready).

k i'll call my local bestbuy too. I do want the vehicle as it cant be destroyed like the others. So its a valuble asset. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

on my ebgames order status it changed to open, dunno what that means..

same here but when i called them they said that sony had not sent them the discs yet and to check back in a week. I nearly cussed out the Customer service rep......

Just got off the phone with my local Best Buy.
Short answer: they have no clue what the bonus even is.

I just checked my tracking order on ebgames.com mine is still open which means they have not started shipping them out yet.
Hopefully the page will change last night. But they were supposed to ship them out either at the end of September or on Oct 1.

well they were supposed to charge us the shipping costs of the order when the bonus cd shipped and they havnt done that yet. They said they dont have the cd's and dont know when they will ship. Guranteed nothing will ship this weekend and nothing will ship until late monday IF they have them in by then.

I just hope they can get their act together and get the cds out by next weekend. I am not going to be very happy if when they said that we can take part in beta, it would only be for a week. As it is, you will only get 2 weeks if everything gets shipped by next weekend. Who knows why SOE hasn't shipped them the CDs yet, considering they knew this was happening months ago!!!

From the EB website:
Beginning of October does not necessarily mean October 1. Any time next week could still reasonably be considered "Beginning of October".
Bonus will ship the beginning of October via US mail at no extra charge. Please allow three to give business days for delivery. ... Beta period is defines as October 8, 2004, through October 22, 2004. Those trying to enter before or after the defined beta period will not be allowed access.

To quote EB games:
"Bonus will ship the beginning of October via US mail at no extra charge. Please allow three to five business days for delivery."
Now, judging by the fact that this phase of beta is supposed to start on the 8th, I would expect the beta disks to start shipping between the 3rd and the 5th, to allow time for people to receive them. They could also start shipping on the 8th, but that would make little sense. I hope it isnt delayed... :-P
