Ok I'm doing the first tier missions (almost done)and would like to buy and build good ship for space combat.

I'm a Rebel and was woundering what ships to look for?

What equipment to place in it?

After I get it from the Shipwright is it ready to fly?

I know I have to have the certs for the better ships but could someone give me some clue to what ships are good for tier 2 and tier3 and so on. And what equipment would be best?

Thanks

I've been using a Y-wing ever since I was certified for it. It's a great ship when properly outfitted. For equipment, get the most powerful reactor, capacitor and blasters you can find, the most maneuverable engine (because the Y-wing steers like a brick), and shields and armor with the most hit points. I'd suggest putting stronger armor in the rear, because the Y-wing isn't that fast of a ship, so the enemies will be coming from behind you many times. I'd put a booster in there too, to help youmove from mission to missionfaster. You'll either have to loot all of these components (like I did), or by them from a shipwright. You buy the chassis blueprintsfrom a shipwright for Xamount ofcredits, then you have to take it to an NPC Chassis dealer in the nearest starport. They'll charge you 20k? credits to turnthe shipwright's blueprintsinto an actual chassis. After that, just use the starship terminal and load all of the components into your new ship.

Have fun

Ywing is a good one to start with, I used looted components as right now shipwright costs are high. It cost me 120,000 just to outfit a player made z95.

find good looted components.. capacitors with 30+ recharge rate are awesome, good manuervable engines, shields and a reactor with at least 12,800 energy (what I use currently).

You only get a blueprint from a shipwright, you have to take the blueprint to a chassis dealer in the starports and buy the chassis.

You want a z-95 to start. When you get tier one, go with the y-wing. When you get it from a shipwright it generally is not ready to fly, and you must also purchase components to go with it. The minimum you need to launch is a reactor and a engine. For a z-95 I suggestarmor, shield gens, and a weapon. All basic stuff (Mark I)so it doesn't overload your ships mass. Use looted components if you can find them, they are generally better than their player made counterparts.

For the tiers, do you mean what ships you get at certain levels or are you asking what ship type to use duringspecific tier missions?

I found that the Y-wing is kinda slow at turning, but you can compensate by loading a better engine into the chassis, orusing a low speed to turn. Some people continue to use the z-95 during their tier two missions because it has a faster turning speed.

I tend to attack head on with my y-wing, so the best armor I can find is always at the front.

Shields take care of most of the damage from the rear, although I have some decent armor back there as well.

I would wait for the y-wing longprobe certification. It is singleplayer so you can slave the turret guns to your main guns. You cannot do that with the regular y-wing.

They are slow turning, but if you put it close to 50% speed, it turns at a fast rate. I recommend getting the biggest guns, armour, and shields you can find into your y-wing. You will never touch the mass limit. Just make sure you have a good reactor.

Again thanks for all the help.

What is a good reactor? (type, size)

What are good weapons? (type, size)

How many weapons can I have.

1. You want a reactor that has a low mass and a high energy generation rate, if possible.

2. High damage output for weapons that are on your skill level.

3. The number of weapons depend on your chassis. Basic fighters can have one set, while the higher level fighters can have 2 or 3 sets.
