Well for those of you stuck on the mission right before this, I feel your pain. That nova is no fun to take out, but luckily the mission ends after the nova and his wingmen are defeated.
At the point you are doing T3M3 you should be strong enough to survive just long enough ot kill that tier 4 nova before he kills you. It's pretty easy solo, and if you are having trouble start seeking out better parts for your ship. I had 1000 front shields, 800 front armor, engines that hit 863 with overdrive 2, and guns that did 1600-2600. Add Eweapons to that and you can take out a Tier 4 Nova 1/1 and escape with a lot of front armor damage.
Next mission is kind of disappointing. Starts with a Tier 3 nova being escorted by wing of tier 3 boys. The escorts break off and attack but the nova keeps going and doesn't attack till you go after it. Not hard at all. Disable and escort that nova a little ways and it jumps out. Then you have to go destroy another ship, a tier 4 nova with several tier 3 escort fighters...Deja Vu? A good engine, and emergency weapons will make short work of that bloody ship and then you can mop up his fighter support.
Why the missions copy each other so much is a mystery to me. M3 Involved killing a Tier 4 Nova with escorts as the finale. M4 Involved killing a T3 Nova with escorts, then a T4 Nova with escorts, then a Tier 4 Gunboat with escorts... How about throwing a bit more variety into the missions? Would really be nice to have missions that involve large scale attacks with other empire ships. This assassin stuff is getting old.
Don't think there is anything really hard about this mission, just can't do it alone. Get a few friends to help blast that shuttle and it should work fine.

Thats the one im currently on. I can do ok solo, I just send in a bomber strike to act as a diversion while i blast the novas, then wham the fighters. But that blasted gunboat is tough. I can solo it, if it werent for that annoying top/bottom invincibility bug. Nearly 75% of my shots hit the top or bottom and its frustrating as hell to take it out. Its always the escorts that end up killing me, so im going to try a new strategy and take out the escorts first while the gunboat is busy with the bombers.

Hmm Tie bombers... I haven't use that special much, didn't realize it actually spawns 3 fighters that attract attention away from you. Very excited to try thing. Emergency weapons will be missed but if that is all i need to pass it, whoo hoo!
