I had galaxies when it first came out, and was disappointed. Tried to stick with it for a couple months, but just didn't have the right "feel". JTL is looking pretty interesting at the moment though, and I have a few questions. I do apologize ahead of time if these have already been asked nemerous times....
Is it worth jumping in JTL from scratch? Meaning, I would have to start with a new character all over again....can I go directly to a ship and fight in space?
While in space, is the combat similar to groud where you just lock on a target and it autofires for you basicly and it really dosen't matter if you try to move or not. Or can you actually maneuver your starcraft to evade enemy fire. Bad example but possibly similar to an fps (if this makes any sense)
Thanks in advance for any possible help or feedback.....

Lets see... yes, you can fly a ship from the beginning. As for combat, the game plays like the good old "TIE Fighter" game from quite a while a way. The game has become something of a combat flight sim with the launch of JTL, and it is well done. The graphics are amazing as well. Hopefully we'll see you back!

Well, I've been playing since Sept'03 and have had my ups and downs with swg. Now, JTL is a breath of fresh air. The only complaint I have with it, is that sometimes it is buggy for me. I don't understand how a ship I'm targeting can be flying forward, and then drop 200m vertically down, while still flying forward. Needless to say, the CSR's haven't been much help, as they state this is a known issue, and please delete your ticket.
And that they tell me to suck it up basically, jerks.
Anyways, for a player starting swg, you can get into space right away. On the flip side of that, purchasing ship chassis's is gonna get expensive, and the money is in the ground game still.
Looted components have lower mass than shipwright made items, but SW items are more readily available.
Also, you can travel from any starport to another starport, without having to hop between planets, once you get past the starter ship.
Overall, I'd say it would be worth the purchase.
And it'll be even better once they work out the few, minor annoying bugs.
