The Y-wing Longprobe (the ship you get certification for at tier 2) has never been a two-player craft. The tier 1 Y-wing is the two-player craft.

I rode in one the other day with a friend, and told a guild mate about it. Tonight for 2hrs we tried to go up in my new Longprobe, and could not get into space. With all the changes lately, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. We tried 2 different ships, so I don't think it's a buggy ship.

Can anyone confirm this?

The confusing thing is that the Long Probe is the craft you get in tier two, which is labelled "Multi-Person" craft, or something like that.

I don't know much about that ship, but doesn't the longprobe enable u 2 be able to use both guns on that ship by yourself? If sooo, that would probably explain why you can't put a gunner in the ship.

The longprobe never was a 2 player ship.

The standard Y-Wing is 2 player and the pilot only can fire 1 weapon.

The longprobe issingleplayer with both weapons usable by the pilot.

The previous popsts are correct. The Y-wing has 1 Missile and a projectile weapon for the pilot and 1 projectile for a gunner. Useful if you have a friend.

But if your solo then the Longprobe is the much superior ship as it has 2 projectile weapons and 2 missile weapons all for the pilot at the expense of a slightly less agile.

Does anyone else find it weird that they elected to put the regular Y-Wing which is a multi-person craft under tier one, while the single personcraft, the Longprobe,is under tier 2--multi-person craft?

Actually, that makes sense to me that they made the Longprobe a higher Tier. Specificly because the standard Y-Wing (sans gunner) is a far less effective ship than the Longprobe. The addition of the second gun mount and the expanded missile racks mean that I can tear it up in the Longprobe in a way that just isn't possible in the standard Y-Wing without a second buddy sitting in the turret. And let's be honest, for the majority of missions, your friends are going to be flying their own ships anyhow.

I think from an "endgame content" standpoint, the normal Y-Wing is more interesting to keep around than the Longprobe, because it does offer the turret as an option. But by that point, you have access to both ships anyhow. I consider the Longprobe an "upgrade" to the Y-Wing's offensive capacities, and in that respect I think it makes sense to keep it at a higher tier.
