Ok, I have a long list of stuff so I'm going to do my best to keep this as brief and to the point as possible. The guild I am in, roleplays. We're a dying breed of player, but we try. In our many discussions the "wouldn't it be nice if.." came up. Here's some things that we all think would be a solid and more enriching addition.
1. Landing pad structure deeds.
The landing pad structure deed would place a landing pad in the vicinity of a house that a player owns, and cannot be placed anywhere else. You can then land one ship on the pad and it will leave a static model placed on the pad while your ship is there.
In the radial menu which comes up when you enter the system waypoint, it would have in addition to the starport dialogue, the ability to land on one of the landing pads you own. The only thing that could ice this cake would be to add in a cut scene or animation that allows people on the ground to see the ship descend and land and the pilot to see the ship coming in and landing.
2. Addition of a vicinity brush which keeps npcs from spawning on, under or close to a home.
I'm not sure what is used in the development of the Star Wars Galaxies maps, if it's radiant or some other mapping tool, but a brush placed around a house and a few simple lines of code (IF blocks) would certainly be much appreciated as alot of people get unexpectedly waylaid on their way into their home by hostile npcs or creatures.
3. Jedi Factions (Light, Dark):
Quite often I find myself drawn into discussions about my philosophies on Jedi and how they should be played, in such discussion I had said something along the lines of the following, and after I explained it, many of us agreed that it seems more fitting. The Jedi weren't ever on one side or the other, the Jedi were peacekeepers, The light side Jedi had but one real enemy and that was the Dark Siders. Personally, I don't think a Jedi should be a part of the Rebel or Imperial factions as it isn't even remotely accurate in the portrayal of Jedi. First off, a Sith (Dark Jedi), wouldn't give a flip about the Empire, they are beings of pure hatred and overwhelming desire for power and destruction, the Empire could get blown to pieces and it wouldn't phase them. Look at Darth Vader, he didn't serve the Empire, he servedhis Master, not for the glory of the empirebut for the power that coudl be achieved by using the Empire to crush out any opposition.
Light Side Jedi, if portrayed correctly, would serve as peacekeepers, they aren't soldiers, so having Rebel Jedi Ground forces and Rebel Jedi pilots makes no sense. Just because Luke Skywalker did it further along in the storyline doesn't mean that all Jedi would. Remember, The Jedi were their own organization before and during the Clone Wars.
4. Modification to Jedi Grouping:
Ok, so SOE doesn't want alot of Jedi, that's fine and dandy (although a bit biased and consumer unfriendly since most players seeking to become one have paid and paid and paid), however, it would be unfair to add in this new Galactic Civil War stuff and disallow a group to help a Jedi if a Bounty Hunter comes looking for him/her. There's alot of annoyance over this because a BH has nothing to lose but a few chinks on his armor and maybe his pride, a Jedi loses his character after so many deaths. I would like to propose that Jedi Initiates+ may group and assist other Jedi Initiates+ in battles including BH attacks.
5. Mission difficulty adjustments:
Ok, here we are, 2 guys, only 2 in Aurellia, suddenly the screen lights up and there are 200 Sith attackers storming it. We're stuck in a tent with a table, firepit and bed. The 2 of us manage to kill off about 20 outlaws, 4 pirates, but still end up cloning 3 times in the process. Then there are the 10 Sith Thugs running around with mad skills including mind shots and things like that who are tearing anyone and everyone up who even come close. Might I suggest doing a general vicinity check of the village and spawning the stuff depending on the number of players within the area of the village? Instead of just throwing an army on 2 poor TKMs? hehe.
My general complaints on matters are listed below as well, and keep in mind, I'm trying to be mature and even tempered about it.
Compaint #1: (Jedi Perma Death)
If your going to make Jedi permanently die after so many deaths, then be fair, make all the peoplealso have to face those penalties. I cannot see spending a year working on becoming a Jedi and paying a years worth of fees to have it robbed by some bored player who just wants to be malicious. The sad truth of it is, because Jedi can be perma killed, people are -always- trying to kill one, and that's not only unfair but totally upsetting to most of the people who worked so hard on becoming Jedi in the first place.
Complaint #2: (Naming Enforcement)
Sony, hello? How many people are you going to let flagrantly abuse the naming conventions you set forth in the manual before you do something about it? I see on an average day about 30 or so players who have names that if I posted in this thread, would get me banned from it. Can you guys get someone watching this stuff please? Or offer the players a way to report name abuse. Some of us actually care about the game and about how its played.

When did they bring back permadeath and when did this become something other than the JTL forum?

Well the launchpad has to do with JTL so I posted it here, although I considered posting it elsewhere as well.
Well, I believe, the perma-death is applicable in this sort of a system:
Jedi Padawan (3 deaths before permadeath)
When a Padawan dies, they lose force skills (which is crap since they made it uber hard to convert and grind it out to begin with).
Jedi Knight (6 deaths before permadeath)
Same thing here.
I may be totally misinformed but I've had friends who lost their Jedi to perma death. I won't invest that kind of time into it if i'm gonna end up losing my investment which is what it is at that point.

If SOE thinks this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it and post the link to where it was moved to, I apologize if it wasn't in the right place.

Think he posted it there cuz he is more worried about the landing, ie why he used an ordered list rather then a bulleted one. I like the idea of landing on landing pads, but possible there could be a landing center (similar to starport) where a city allows you to add your deed to the structure and an additional landing pad for you is added liket he new turret system being tested in TC-Gorth (not sure if its new or old)

Having a landing pad next my house would be pretty fun and convenient, but I doubt it will be ever added to the game. The Devs havesaid that they wantto add more reasons for people to visit the npc cities. And handing out private landing spots would take away one of the biggest reasons whypeople stillgo to them: to land and launch their ships.
And alot of your Jedi ideas are based on old information I'm afraid. There hasn't been Jedi perma death for many months, not since the Jedi revamp. You also don't lose any skills, unlessyou meanthe "special" abilities you get from being on the council.
The death penalty, as it is now, is just a largeloss of experience. You can stunt the growth of your Jedi by dying too much, but you will neverlose him.
