Thread: Storm Squadron Tier 3 Mission 3 Question
Edit: I would recommend a wingman for all these missions anyway. Most ppl who I have come across who are doing Tier 3 are more than willing to give up an hour of their time aslong as you do the same for them. Several members of my guild got through Tier 3 in the same day with all of us just helping eachother out

Agreed. I'm not too impressed with that mission. Just killed 47 enemy in 13 waves...what a joke.
It even occured to me that I might need to kille'm all before next wave but the next wave spawned everytime I got down to the last fighter, Grrrr.
Now I don't mind a challenging mission BUT ...An hour to get to a point where you need to get about 20 good, clean, FAST kills in a row? That seems a bit much. I realize it would go faster with a wingman but they aren't as abundant as one might like to think. Even fewer are the ones that have an hour to give.
I know it's been said in a few threads already but I'm gonna say it agian anyway.
Tier 3 missions are way too long. Break it down abit..give us a chance to tinker with our ships and get a cup of coffee fer cryin out loud.
Also would like to see the training available when you have the xp. That alone would certainly take care of the kill rate problem.
Any confirmations on whether "clearing the whole wave" is the answer to this mission?
I've finally done it now with two wingmates and it does not seem like you have to kill every single fighter of a previous wave (we did the mission 2x last night). We did occasionally have 1 reb fighterleft (but mostly killed them all before the next wave).
However, you know you are on track when the shuttle sends you a message saying 'You're doing very well, pilot. Keep it up just a little bit longer and the rebels will believe we got some very hot cargo on board'. Not the exact message but paraphrasing. I guess if you don't get that message after the first two waves, you might as well abort and start over. I couldn't tell ya what *exactly* it is that leads to getting that message though. It's pretty confusing and inconsistent since we also got it with one fighter left from an earlier wave.
I would reallyrecommend to group for this mission. The decoy escort is not the final stage, anyway, and the last parts of the mission do bear some danger (Nova cruisers). Must be really bad to succeed on the decoy and then getting shot down later. Grab one or two wingmen, then get the mission solo (ungrouped) and group right before you launch into space. The mission will be very easy then.
