Thread: Make Pilots worthwhile

As we all know, the Empire and Rebels must supply out posts, move troops and equipment, ect. Most of this must be done using transports or other ships. So why is most of the fighting in space against other fighters?
Blockading planets so supplies dont go through, destroying the ships, ect should affect the outcome of the civil war, control of the planet, ect.
Also give us pilots more loot than just ship parts and credits. With all the debris floating around from destroyd ships, other loot should be in abundant supply

I'm all for this. The battles in space should affect the planetary control game on the ground. Definitely.
There should be missions ranging from the smaller scale to the larger, from the interception of transports to the destruction of ISDs and Mon Calamari crusiers.
I have the ideas for the missions themselves spinning in my head even as we speak. I think I'll put together a document and post it here.

I totally agree ehb ....i wrote a similar post the other day .......and was basically wandering why it sayed e.g "electronics equipment transfered" when you docked with a freighter ..... then it made you think you were able to loot!!! which isnt the case .....thats a bit decieving! and yes we should be able to loot ....i mean i was kind of under that immpression before i bought the game and I am not happy that pirating and decent looting systems werent immplemented into jtls.

If they ever do immplement what im saying I hope they dont do the old ....."buy another expansion " trick as this should have been immplemented into the initial release of jtls

I am 1000000000000000% behind this.
It'd add a TON to the GCW. Like...if some factionally aligned, overt players "secured" the space above a planet long enough, big capital ships could come in and drop NPC reinforcements fortheir buddieson the ground, taking down bases. If space and ground was captured, the entire system would be under the faction's control, and blockades and such would be put in. Then there's some opportunity for smuggler/neutral pilot content in there, too. ![]()
That'd be very, very cool.
